The erosion of manners and ethics

in Centlast month

Wow... how great the progress of information and communication technology is today. All have been able to make our lives easier, practical and efficient. Imagine those of us who lived in remote areas of the country twenty-five years ago, if we wanted to convey sad news to families living in cities, we had to go to the train station. By using train transportation services we will arrive at the family's house for hours just to convey the sad news, and return home after taking hours. As a result, just to convey the news it takes all day. Something that requires time, energy and simple means of transportation but is very complicated. But now everything is easy, cheap and time-saving. Conveying the news only takes a few minutes. That is the great result of the development of information and communication technology today.

In the 1900s, to get information you had to read newspapers, watch television or listen to the radio and it was one-way (no interactive). To watch a football match live, you have to come to the stadium or wait for a television station to broadcast the match live. It was so difficult at that time to get information, especially for those of us who lived in remote parts of the country.

But thanks to advances in information and communication technology, it is very easy for us to get information and even various information media are now spilling into our bedrooms. Every day we are presented with various information, both positive and negative, it all depends on how we filter it.

It turns out from years of life experience following various developments in information and communication technology that not all of them are profitable
There is another detrimental side to the advancement of information and communication technology, namely the increasing erosion of polite and ethical values.

In my opinion, the progress of the digital world, especially mass media, is one of the causes of the erosion of cultural values of courtesy and ethics. Various content from social media, if we are not careful and do not have the ability to filter it, is really dangerous for us, especially our generation. Therefore, in this post I want to leave a message to all readers to remain careful in receiving various content, especially negative content which will erode cultural values of courtesy and ethics.
