Hello everyone - as a child, there were many games popular at that time that could be played. There are traditional games, some are considered modern. For traditional games, I used to play kites and to cars made of palm sago tree with other friends. In its time, everything was fun even without depending on gadgets.
BORN in the village, we love toys made by ourselves, such as cars made of thatch palm tree. The palm tree usually grows in swampy areas, at that time the tree was very much grown, and now the swamps have been filled with soil for the construction of houses or shops.
Play with a toy car from hard work, mindset and handwork itself, of course it becomes a pride for us. Besides being able to train imagination and creativity, we also often share ideas from the process of finding good materials, designing, carvings, smoothing every corner of the sago tree branches that are still rude so that the toy car is finished, it's very fun.
After the car has been built, we will go around the village in our own car. There is a sense of pride when the toy car we have made is attractive to those who see it. Although we make cars together, the results can be different, depending on the expertise of each hand.
I think everyone agrees that it's really fun to play kites. Besides being required for creativity when making designs, playing kites also requires patience and persistence in finding enough wind. Kite creativity can be from the shape, color and size that we display. The kite game also requires more than one, so it instills a sense of community.
One of my memories from playing kites is how to tie the knot that determines how the kite flies. Whether the kite will always spin until it flies or can be flown well, there is a philosophy. Even to tie a kite knot.
Another unforgettable memory is when a kite broke. Me and friends will definitely chase the kite no matter how far it falls. During the kite not damaged, we will continue to chase it. Then the kite will become our seizure when still drift or stuck in a tree. Hahaha really funny remembering that time.
Even though it was dangerous and prone to injury, the children of its time, including me, never gave up in running after a broken kite. Even though are quite tired and many people sneer, "why chasing a broken kite if you can buy it with your own money ?".
Be aware, kites can be bought easily. However, the sensation, the memories of playing and chasing a kite break, will not necessarily be repeated at a later date and it is a very expensive price - at least to be remembered.
