Are you snapping/waving/threading?

Why or why not?

Personally I quite enjoy going through the snaps feed a couple times per day and casting a few quick votes down the feed. It also helps me connect with new users and catch up on some random happenings outside of hive as well, basically saves me some time from checking reddit or twitter and to be honest I've barely used twitter the last couple months maybe cause of snaps.

There's still more I could improve on how often I use them and how I curate the feeds, but there's also more people I'd wish would get on there compared to my post feed.

Any particular reason you're not using them?

And if you are, what would you tell readers they're missing out on?

Forfeiting half of the author rewards.

Sort:

I use Snaps for a few reasons, such as:

  • I used Ecency for a long time, but at a certain point the browsing speed was really bad, and since I'm a fanatic about fast response times, I started trying out Peakd and I simply loved it. It's the fastest and most organized frontend I've found so far.
  • When Inleo's threads were launched, it was a revolution and we started accepting quick/short content (microblogs), but Inleo's interface is really complicated, slow and I didn't like it. With that, there was Ecency's Waves, but since Ecency's own frontend was slow, I didn't feel like using Waves.
  • When Peakd launched Snaps (I believe it was the last one to launch its microblog), I was already using Peakd, so with so much browsing speed, organization and ease, I simply made my home here on Snaps.

Other details:

Even before started having CR on Snaps, I had already fallen in love with everything it had to offer, because I was looking for more engagement, people to meet and interacting as broadly as possible.

When CR started to be available on Snaps, I saw an even greater opportunity to interact and be rewarded for it, so much so that I use most of the return on Snaps to make PU or buy L2 tokens and HBD sends it to savings.

So this became an even greater attraction for everyone! I don't like to think that we use Snaps just for the "money" but I think having an incentive like this is good, it forces us to always want to do something cool or with a purpose to attract greater engagement.

Honestly more often I use ecency waves to stay connected with other people. Also it's more convenient for me because ecency has not only waves integration in their mobile app but also has separate mobile app for it .
In my case I use snaps and threads more often to tell people about new posts published by me.
Besides it, if to talk about snaps sometimes I use snaps also to communicate with other when I turn on my laptop.
And final point I try not to use this short content apps coz afraid that they can become addictive for me and lost a lot of time there)) but it is just my own opinion
Also on ecency waves I see more answers not only from readers but also from people who published wave.

Waves is my favorite , too!

Thank you!

Thanks for sharing your opinion!

I think the biggest reason I don't use them is because there is just so much happening that they get little traction or views. It's more of a lottery game as to whether or not people actually see them and interact with them.

Maybe check the following feed mainly? peakd has one that shows all 4 short content platforms in one feed!

Oh, I might have to check that out.

Snapping mainly. Inleo censors thread replies published from other front ends, and it works poor overall, so I quit Threads a while ago. And I use Waves sometimes, but they are mainly just about wishing everyone good morning or good night, so I don't really spend time browsing them.

Snaps are the best to me by far.

Greetings, I use these tools from time to time, mostly to promote my posts and also when I want to communicate something simple. I don't think it has been given the necessary push. However, I think it will be used more in the future; it just needs a little promotion from the communities.

This!

And also the other way around. My snaps often represent what I blog about on Hive too, so it sometimes gets me some new followers as well.

Greetings @acidyo ,

Thank you for giving Snap users an opportunity to expound on the Utility of Snaps.

There are the normal Snaps....a photograph, a poll, a graph, a sunset, a puzzle, a preview of one's post, etc....quite a diversity of Snaps really.

There are special Snaps.... @geneeverett used Snaps to precisely predict when BTC would be 100K....in another case... @tamaralovelace let Bleujay know that Storm Conditions were in her area....in other cases Snappers are able to report issues and developers are happy to assist....the immediacy factor is liberating and fun.

Snaps has loads of potential.

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

Yeah the images are not loading properly for me when I use snap section so I dont use it. I have to wait a while for the images to load so it affects the overall experience. I'm on 5g so it's not a speed issue.

I Snap and Wave a bit. I've not been on Threads lately as I'm just not using InLeo. Short-form can be great to get an idea of what is going on, but there is a lot of crap in the feeds. We will need better tools to get the quality stuff.

I use Snaps regularly and I like the feature. For some of the things I post there, a blog post is simply too time-consuming or not worth it. With Snaps, for example, I can simply post a picture of my last meal, which I really enjoyed, or that I've advanced to the next league in Splinterlands and received good rewards there.

When I write a blog post, I have a certain expectation of quality and don't just want to write a few words. On Snaps, I can also just post a picture or a quote that I like. It's just more informal for me.

Also, when you scroll through the feed, you come into contact with a wide variety of topics that I may not have seen before.

I share a short message of the day that do not meet the requirement for a long post on Snap or Wave.
My second motivation is to learn new info from the feed faster than the article publication. The interaction on the comment section is instantaneous with people interested to share on these topics
Peace

I use thread mostly because I was just introduced to it and am still trying to understand all the intricacies. Well I’ve recently heard about ecency waves and snaps and am keen on giving them a try

When it comes to microposts, my first option is LeoThreads, then DBuzz, and lastly, Somee. But LeoThreads has not been working for me for weeks now. Earlier, when I tried to do a minipost revisiting LeoThreads, same problem. DBuzz too didn't work. I went to Somee, but it took some time to load a photo, and so I remember snaps and waves. First to use snaps a minute ago.

wow didn't realize somee was still a thing!

I'd spend more time on snaps and give up on a couple of those you mentioned!

Threads mostly, but I'll have to try the others. The short ones make it easy to stay connected without scrolling forever. It’s a nice way to support others too, quick votes add up and you never know who might appreciate the vote 😁😁😁

This guy... #me lol

Given i use Peakd mainly for my Hive activities I often snap (especially when I wanna share something short that comes to my mind and where I do not wanna bother others to drain their Voting Power when i got a brain fart :-). Recently often for the great posh reddit initiative - often chosse to burn votes.

I also used Threads often when I had a relevant topic and was logged in there, same goes for Waves - bt mainly snaps if I feel desire to showcase my current feelings.

Not learnign too much to be honest scrolling the snap feeds yet - still guilty to use X (also given we try to bring folks over to Hive from there) for certain areas I am interested in.

Honesty I don't check them, it's kinda annoying having to check 3 different places... Also I never used Twitter so I don't really like much short post with a sentence, I like more normal posts

I guess I sort of like forget it is there as I tend to enjoy full on experiences. personally worried it may just become somewhere individuals might just post a picture of their dinner or their dog licking its balls for instead of little blue thumbs up, milking the hive for very little effort?

I don't think milking will become a thing there, in general smaller curation for short content and comments is a good thing to increase on hive imo!

I bow to your greater knowledge in all things Hive 👍

I check threads every once in a while (not daily), but I'm not a huge fan of short form content. It can be a rabbit hole without getting much value for the time.

I snap intermittently, and thread once in a blue moon nowadays. I usually scroll a bit, upvote a few things, and then forget about that part of the site for a couple days. I'm trying to do better though.

I used to peruse them more often but it's hard to keep up with the day to day Hive without using the short from also. More mobile accessibility is probably key to their success, instead of opening X we should be opening HiveMinis!

I like waving

I do use them to interact with other user but rarely post due to limited interaction on there,

So atm just trying to be engaging on snaps :)

Snapping and Threading, every single day. It has been an amazing experience!

Any particular reason you're not using them?

Hi, I love using them, but right now I'm a little busy with my studies, but that tool is spectacular. I also think that many communities should promote it, because there is a lack of knowledge about its use.

Yeah studies are more important!

I just made a snap about a vote I saw on a post by user @forykw. I got really excited when I saw Holozoing. I guess I did the right thing by voting.

I like to check snaps at least once a day just to keep current on HIVE stuff. For example, I found out through snaps that VSC is launching today or in the next few days.

I do sometimes and it gets replied nicely, last time had an issue with keychain and many stepped forward, to help.

Snaps is good. Tried it last week. And I was surprised how I get extra rewards by just posting and interacting to other users there.

hmm I really haven't tried using snaps or going there occasionally. maybe I'll check it out

@acidyo, I paid out 3.666 HIVE and 0.782 HBD to reward 26 comments in this discussion thread.

I check snaps out everyday (atleast once).
I don't always have time to write longform articles on the one hand and engagement on my snaps is bigger compared to my longforms.
Yep, I love snaps!
