Which is the latest account you followed on Hive and why?

in Ask the Hive5 years ago

Figured this could also be a good way for readers to stumble upon new authors that have recently joined or they've not seen in the past they might be interested in following as well.

I followed @the100 recently, noticed him in a comment on my post and recognized the username from a TV Show I watched for a while and then realized he was new to Hive and jumping into the rabbit hole head first which was nice to see. Hopefully over time the whole process will be made easier for newcomers with some simple popup tutorials on front-ends such as peakd.com so they don't have to "do the research" by themselves.

Anyway, your turn!

PS! Changed name of community to "ask the hive" from a recommendation by another user and I personally like it more as well, what do you think?

Sort:

I followed @oscarps as we know each other since a long time ago and also, he is a very good photographer, which I love. I realized I wasn't following him after all this time... 🤦‍♀️. Like what happened to you not following me on Twitch, remember? That 🤣

After that I saw his follow back and that made me feel better as it was not only me forgetting to do it lol. This was obviously NOT a follow for follow because of what I explained before. Also you can see in our blogs that we talk about each other, vote, comment, etc.

Btw, wanted to mention that I am using PeakD lately and they have the option to create lists. It is very handy as I can keep an eye on blogs I like just by adding them to one of my lists and after a few days, when I am absolutely sure I want to see that content on my feed, I follow them. Too many disappointments lately and showing up and staying forever on the blockchain as "unfollow" 😝

You're on Twitch?

Ay este tonto 😑🤦‍♀️🤣

I started following @lizelle yesterday because I was having a chat with her and realized after sneaking a peak at her profile, I wasn't following her. She is reblogged onto my profile so frequently, I didn't realize I wasn't following her cause we Hive engage a lot too. She writes about stuff and things.

I also watched the100 the first season (and most of the 2nd I think) was interesting.

lizelle is awesome and was one of the few using the cross-posting effectively as a curator (even burned the 5% that went to her), too bad many others just tried to abuse it for extra rewards.

Yeah easy call with her.

I think the concept of doubledipping cross-posting is great. but it's like down voting insofar as it needs to be used properly. Unlike downvoting, it isn't necessary, so it's harder to shrug off poor use of the stuff.

As for cross posting, I'm really glad to see they've changed the rewards for that now so nothing goes to the cross-poster. Perhaps a post explaining how this works would help the community? I've had people asking me to cross post one of my blogs in their community but it just doesn't feel right, kind of blowing one's own bugle not so! That should be disabled in my mind.
Thank you again for everything you have done and keep doing for the community!Thank you so much for the compliment @acidyo, much appreciated! I'm like an old tortoise, arrived here long after the race is over;);)

I know this is a super delayed response but a huge thank you for the shoutout @abitcoinsceptic;) Life's been quite a challenge lately!

I'm following @ricaponz a newbie but her post is so interesting from her first day last week and until now. She has guts of writing good contents which is needed to our platform. She is the mother of @gremayo an artist here and family of @mers my idol in blogging.

I have observed that new comers like me struggle hard to see people follow them, maybe because we are new and doesn't know much about the hive community yet. I have followed some people will very good and outstanding contents and only a few followed back. Most the time new comers doesn't get balance for months because they don't really receive the tutor they need from the members who have being here for a long time and have gained ground.
I followed @dejoke recently because I invited her to hive and she just needed some followers which I did. Thanks @acidyo

and only a few followed back.

My best advice I can give you is to not just follow 4 follow, try and instead follow and comment on authors that share the same interests with you by checking in which communities they are active and by voting and commenting on their posts and you'll get some followers over time and it will take time but they'll be worth a lot more than those just following you cause you followed them.

Also discord and joining different communities is a good way to connect with others.

I really appreciate your advise and for replying also, I will follow accordingly.
Thanks and God bless.

The last follow I made was a couple days ago, a chap called @biggypauls who dives and does underwater photography and generally posts about oceanic stuff. He's a smart guy, funny, good natured and worth a look.

There's this other dude...@acidyo or some such name...Oh hang on, that's you! Lol. This is a good idea mate, I hope loads of people jump on.

Cheers for the plug bro any help is great, be safe

I'm always happy to promote active users who post with passion, personality and effort. You do that and I'm glad to have run into you.

Thank you @acidyo for the mention. I see you're all about helping people grow on this platform. Really awesome.

I couldn't say much about the latest accounts that I've followed, but the first one was @crimsonclad . She helped me by delegating some HP when I ran out of RC. :) She's super cool on discord.

Crim is awesome!

In real world too :)

@thepeakstudio makes really good hive themed images for promotions, wallpapers etc.

I noticed a tweetfirst post on Hive. Since she seemed to be such an established NSFW content creator already, I took a quick peek to make sure it wasn't a fake account. After noticing her website listed the same Twitter account that announced her Hive account, I figured it was legit. 😌 from @polyannie earlier today, announcing her

I especially love her tag line that reads, "Erotic Artist & nsfw content creator turned individual data sovereignty advocate after losing a 20k following without explanation." Sounds like Hive people to me! 😁

Hi and thanks for welcoming me !!! It’s always a little rattling joining a new community. It’s like the same feeling of starting a new job. It’s cool how you checked to make sure I was legit. That makes me feel really comforted. So far I really like you hive people!!

I think it was @dapplr. It’s a new mobile app for Hive that’s been developed, and I can’t wait for it to be released.

I like the way she composes her content, she got the talent for sketches as well which got her added to my favorite that I follow.Being a fan of photography, I recently bumped into @zpzn on Hive, she likes photography as well.

Thank you dear Joe.. happy to have you here as a new friend <3

You are welcome dear 🙂

I just followed @kodeblaccc. He's only got a few followers, but he's a talented photographer. As a godless heathen I just ignore the religious posts.. ;)

Thanks for the follow. I'll follow right back. I appreciate the compliment about my photography.😁😁😁

No worries mate. :)

Been curating him with the ocd accounts lately, really great stuff!

I followed @monster-burner because I'm a great fan of Steem monsters game and the project sounds like a great initiative towards brining value to the cards in the game.

I most recently followed @ssiena since @edicted left a quality comment on @flowerbaby’s #introduceyourself post about us both successfully getting our ladies on Hive.

Thank you for the recent follow by the way 😎

Thought I already was cause you've been really active but noticed I wasn't when I curated the intro post of your lady. ^^ Now have her invite more of her friends and then them their friends until everyone's stuck at home hiving even with covid being over. ;P

Consistently creating is essential to my happiness. I’m working on bringing more people online. Should have @thejburkeproject onboarded with his intro video in the coming days.

Nice, feel free to tag/comment my way if you need some curation help.

Thanks! I’ll be sure to do that whenever we get it posted. Planning on doing another in person walkthrough with this user. I want the 3Speak process to really sink in for him. It’s simple once you see it all the way through a time or two. It’s a bit torturous to talk somebody through it on a phone call. Hivesigner always gets them on a loop.

Hmm wrong person, hubby of mine is @cmplxty lol I appreciate it though! I will follow your lady as well. Maybe she and I can learn things here together lol

I must have been fried at the time. I totally meant to type @cmplxty

Haha no worries! :)

It was the same user as for you who I found because of your reblog :D Will be interesting to follow his journey.

I started following @qurator, just to know more about the curation activity they are doing to know more about good authors.

The latest account is @hextech, the witness that I started. Not counting that, I followed @edicted, one of my partners on the witness. @the100 is pretty good, I saw one of his posts and seeing from the eyes of someone new to the chain is cool.

I saw his post with photos with promoting his site and recognized the area where the photos were taken. Then I check the site and loved the "guilty" side of it 😃Started following @logic.

I followed @ats-david.

It's mostly to inch closer to him until I can jump him unaware and beat him with a pool noodle.

Newsflash, Ted Koppel...

I rather enjoy being beaten with pool noodles.

It shall be Jerry's noodles.

Cool! We should welcome him to Hive!

i think it was innerhive. Why? not sure, guess i will have to wait and see :)

Do you know what I know? ;)

Haha! Great to see you here @acidyo! 17 000 comments is a great achievement! Its good to have people like you around supporting and engaging with the community! 🙂❤️ cheers, @lizanomadsoul from hivebuzz team

As I am returning after a gap, so none, but now I see I have a long list to choose from or may be all..

Post and I think it is true, until we make changes, we can't said we are uncensored because we censor post, we cannot said we are decentralized because many of the rewards goes always to the same accounts, and because right now, we don't vote good content, everyone is voting their friends.I started fallowing @xxxxxxxxxx because I saw this

I really like @bozz. Great blogger with great Content

I began to follow fellow countrymen @blockchaintalktv and @ tatiana21. @blockchaintalktv is a semi-professional TV channel that decided to move to # 3speak. @tatiana21 beautiful girl, wonderful mom and just a positive person from the city of Kharkov.

Thanks dear 💋

Which is the latest account you followed on Hive and why?

You, because I like to stay in touch with all sort of Hive updates but, I don't like everybody doing that. I was following you in the past, then I unfollowed for I don't remember the reason, and now you're on my feed again. I guess I realized that you don't have to particularly like every post one person posts but, to realize that you might get once in a while some really nice gems. I also decided to follow you because of OCD, that gave quite some nice upvotes over time. Please don't upvote this comment because it was not intended to steal an upvote from you. It's just that I felt like answering your question, and you being the last person I followed I wrote my main reason for doing that.

I have been off from engaging on posts since Hive launched and even a few months back when we were all still on Steem. So, I haven't followed anyone recently on Hive blockchain. But with the help of this thread, I am sure going to follow those hive accounts that would be mentioned...

@xxxxxxxxxx. I actually thought I were following him on that account, but I realized yesterday (~12 hours ago or something like that) that I weren't, so it was an easy choice.

I have actually followed @clixmoney but I have only recently started to take special note of his initiative for @dcooperation. @dcooperation seems to be providing support to content creators that started from steem platform. It has also started here on Hive.

Thanks for mentioning. I'm doing my best to make @dcooperation support as much creators as I can. Maybe we are not that active in the community, but I'm sure that with time when we will have more power, more people will create in our community and send us content to share. You can participate in the interview series by the way. All are shared in the account to power it up. I worked 2 years almost to grow the account and I don't mind to work an other 2 years for the community. I'm thinking also to power up all steem and convert it to hive, so we will grow faster in hive.

Getting our steem converted to hive is also my current plan. I have been converting most of my powerdown steem to hive for a couple of weeks now but I would still need some time before I can totally power down.

HIVE-ian? ) that I've followed, I believe through a re-blog from you. It's good to find, and help to support newcomers, so I thought I might consider finding a protege. At the very least though, I just hope my hopeful apprentice doesn't kill me, as Sith Lords always do for some reason. You an me both, mate. @the100 is the recent most HIVE-er (

so I thought I might consider finding a protege. At the very least though, I just hope my hopeful apprentice doesn't kill me, as Sith Lords always do for some reason.

I had to Google to understand what that meant. Is it from Star Wars? I haven't watched any Star Wars movies. I hope that doesn't trigger anybody. 😄
Anyway, thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. :)

So... you haven't watched Star Wars, eh?

Haha, no worries. I'm always glad to help! It's a great time to get started with Star Wars, now that we're in lockdown and all that. Hope I haven't spoiled anything for you. Best you watch the classics to understand it :-) Stay safe!

That GIF is really funny. The definition of someone getting really triggered. Can't stop laughing. 😆
