In my case, I have read 2 fiction books so far and I am currently reading a third one.
The first one I read was called "The Wrong Man" by John Katzenbach. This isn't the first book I read from this author and his style is about producing suspense in the reader through crime stories involving very smart and astute characters. In this case, the story is about a smart and unscrupulous man who is obsessed with a woman and is willing to do anything to convince her to share her life with him.
The second book I read is actually one of my favorite fiction books of all time, it is "The End of Eternity" by Isaac Asimov, an incredibly smart writer from the scifi genre and also a very accurate visionary when it comes to technology. A perfect example of this man's huge intellect can be be found in this video from 1983 where he predicts modern internet to an interviewer who simply cannot understand what he is hearing. Take a look:
This author wrote several well-known scifi books. Most of his books are, as far as I know, somehow related to each other, or at least it could be said they share the same universe. His most popular books that are considered as a masterpiece by many lovers of scifi are the Foundation. This massive story is going to be adapted in a series by Apple TV+ and you can check the trailer here:
That would be the first time the Foundation is adapted to the screen.
The End of Eternity is the only book with events in its own universe, unrelated to any other book and it was a completely beautiful story. It has scifi in it, but it is also much more than just scifi. I plan to write a proper post about this book very soon because it clearly deserves some discussion.
The third book, the one I am reading now, is also from Asimov. It is the first book from the Robots saga but it doesn't seem as intriguing as the End of Eternity so far. I hope to be able to read all Asimov books before Apple releases The Foundation series but I am not sure if I will be able to. I guess I will see...
What about you? What good book have you read in recent months?
I'm into the fantasy series by Steven Erickson called the Malazan book of the fallen. It's a pretty good series of your into game of thrones type books. Last year though I read Haruki Murakami's Killing Commendatore was really good. Have you ever read Murakami?
I have never heard from Steven Erickson, thanks for mentioning him I will google him.
I have seen people recommending Murakami in the past but I have never read one of his books so far.
