The value of your vote is based on three things. First is the amount of HP you have. The second is your VP which changes as you vote, but does recharge over time. Until you get a moderate amount of HP most people vote 100%, which gives you about 10 votes per day.
You should also convert your HBD to HIVE and then power up your HIVE to HP, which increases your vote value. I use blocktrades.us to convert between HBD to HP.
