Hi fellow Hiveians,

The other day when the little man and I were out for a drive to get some stuff, he finally got to see what he's been looking forward to seeing for months! A train up close!

Mechanical Love

Some of the things our little man loves the most is anything mechanical. Trucks, trains, boats, tools, you name it, if it's mechanical related he's into it! He's loved trains for a long time and hasn't really been able to enjoy one up close for various reasons but the other day he finally got his wish and we saw one!

When him and I were driving to the store the other day, we saw the freight train heading down towards Boston and I wasn't going to say anything to him besides take a look at it, with plans in mind to finally get to show him what the train looks like up close! We were driving to the store and when we drove past it, knowing we should have gone into there, he was confused and asked what we were doing. Little kid is smart lol I told him I had a surprise for him and pulled up to the train tracks. He likes seeing just the train tracks without even a train on them so he was already a bit excited to see them but when the railroad crossing sign closed and the bells started dinging he asked what was going on which I told him there was a train coming! He was ecstatic!

This thing was easily a mile long, it was crazy. There were hundreds of cars on it! One thing that was a little frustrating to see was there were about 75 or more of these giant black petroleum tankers. The Keystone pipeline, the hot topic in recent memory in America, was more than just a pipeline going through some land that may not have been ideal. It was a way to reduce gasoline prices by making it cheaper, faster and easier to transport crude oil through the pipeline. New president comes in and shuts down the pipeline. Who benefits? The guy who paid lots of money to force the crude oil to be transported on his railroad cars, for hefty fees. I digress though! It added a bunch of cars to the train so that was cool.

We watched it for 3-4 minutes when I said let's get out and take a look at it up close! Little man was more than happy to oblige that one. I have always loved trains and stuff myself so it's always cool to see these things up close. The sheer weight, technology and other stuff that goes into these is insane!

The people waiting for the train were probably getting pretty mad, this area is a well off area and these trains usually don't run in the middle of the day like this so it was interesting to see all the cars beeping waiting to go by lol

What felt like forever, the last train car rolled past! I don't know who it was more fun for, me or the little man but this was a cool one. My first time seeing a legit freight train roll past the whole way, right up front.

Give him a kiss and a hug from me!

Haha thanks will do! He gets lots of those from mommy and daddy! He can always use more lol

Hihi!
I like how he stays at the window of the car, looking out. He seems to be a nice, good kid.
xoxo, little one!

Keep that wonder and discover and adventure going as long as you can! I bet there is a train museum somewhere near! That is good dadding for sure!

I was talking to Colin (founder of Presearch) yesterday and we are working on a #shoplocal token to power our local platforms across the globe so that people can tokenize their support of local small businesses!

What a time to be alive and NOT a sad day for trains!
