Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to think it's nice to enjoy some autumn weather.

Ticking Away
All good things come to an end!
The time of year is finally slowing down.. all of the good events are largely over which can be enjoyable, but also a little sad!
The late summer and early autumn are wonderful times of the year for so many reasons. One of my favorite elements about it, having a kid, is that we found lots of events and things to go to and do. It makes for a bunch of really special family time. Far better than wasting it on some stupid phone or watching TV! Like anything though, the time is finite and you enjoy it while it lasts.
This last weekend was the last event that we typically go to every year, and after that there is one more potential event we are considering going to, but it is a little more expensive than the others so we aren't sure if we will make it. Still though, it's a little bittersweet, especially watching the little man as he's growing up and maturing, finding different things entertaining than he did before.
It's funny and interesting, we didn't really go to many of these events when I was a kid. The big thing that we did was go apple picking, which is also a lot of fun and has some great events at the various farms and orchards around, but it wasn't a series of things to do like we've been getting my son into. I think that is emblematic of people in my generation; we are always looking for something else to do, and it doesn't have to be fancy!
Hopping on a hayride, getting all dusty and dirty to go pick some apples is a great time! We don't need to go to some opera to have some fun. I wouldn't be opposed to it.. but it doesn't really sound too appealing to me in my current life trajectory.
I think one of the weird things about it this year was the weather was absolutely beautiful! It was summer weather the whole time.. which was unusual. I'm not going to complain, it was nice going around in shorts and a t-shirt with most of these things but there is for sure a bit of a charm having to hike around in the cold temperatures to do some of these things. It gives it more of an authentic feel rather than a tropical feel.
I'm wondering what the weather is going to be like the rest of the autumn and winter season. Are we going to have a mild winter, or is this one of those teases and then we get absolutely clobbered with sub-zero temperatures and deep snow lol. It would certainly confuse a whole lotta people!
What about you, do you find it both enjoyable but bittersweet to have the ending of the seasonal events to come and go? Let me know in the comments!

Growing up as a kid, we didn't go outdoors much during summer months. I can't really remember why other than parents being busy with work related stuff or something along those lines. It's when I grew older, got into high school that I went out on many outdoor activities during summer, I just loved the aliveness that came with it, the boosted energy of sorts. Winter is always quite except for festivals, end of year/new year festivals.
We don't have much color here yet. I am not sure we are going to get any with the way the weather has been. The temperatures are finally fall like though.
