DANGER ZONE (top gun illustration)

Lately I wanted to do a tribute illustration for the movie: Top Gun.
The sequel to this cult film from the 1980s was released in theaters recently (Top Gun: Maverick) and was eagerly awaited given the wait due to the pandemic, which prevented filming from being completed.

It all started with an initial pencil sketch. As a reference I took several pictures of the F-14 Tomcat jet and the most representative images of Tom Cruise on the set

The next steps are in sequence:

• Inking
• Basic shades
• Adding lights and shadows
• Final details

Everything was processed in vector imaging (Adobe Illustrator)
