RE: Gesture drawings

in Sketchbookyesterday

yeah... awesome... don't overthink.... you progess so much better with 100 quicky dodgy sketches and then 5 more thoughtful ones, that doing 2 more thoughtful ones that take ages.

They are not bad AT ALL. I took my husband to life drawing classes on a date (very early on) and jolly well made sure it was a male model the first time... SO much fun...

i like this one best

just looks "the right energy" the pose doesn't look forced.

anyway great job.

I agree so much. Doing 2 thoughtful ones are rewarding but it takes a long time that anything "less thoughtful" that you make feels less good. This is where the perfectionism comes in.

Does he naturally make better drawings better if it's a male model? I personally find them hard to draw maybe also because I haven't really practiced them. I love women's curves. 😂

Thank you! I think that's from a photograph itself and not a greek statue. Statues like to exaggerate sometimes haha
