Caspar David Friederich was a German romantic painter born in September 1774. Focused on landscaping, he is recognized as the most important plastic artist of his time in his country, in general his painting had a cold aura full of cloudy spaces or night scenes or gothic ruins, he also used to ignore the characters in his works, because in his painting, the human figure had a limited, almost null role.
Friederich tries with his work to highlight the magnificence of space as opposed to the smallness of man in his location with respect to the world, large landscapes can be found in his works that are imposing, but totally empty or with few people, generally of quite a small size.

Caspar David Friederich fue un pintor romántico alemán nacido en Septiembre del 1774. Enfocado en el paisajismo, se le reconoce como el artista plástico mas importante de su época en su país, por lo general su pintura tenía un aura fría llena de espacios nublados o de escenarios nocturnos o ruinas góticas, también acostumbraba a obviar a los personajes dentro de sus obras, pues en su pintura, la figura humana tenía un protagonismo limitado, casi nulo.
Friederich intenta con su obra resaltar la magnificencia del espacio en contraposición a la pequeñez del hombre en su ubicación con respecto al mundo, se pueden encontrar en sus obras paisajes de gran tamaño que resultan imponentes, pero totalmente vacíos o con pocas personas por lo general de un tamaño bastante reducido.

This painting is a commission from a colleague from the city of Mérida, she commissioned me 3 small replicas of which this is the first, I did it on a 45 cm x 35 cm canvas, with oil paints on canvas previously cured, the drawing was really complicated by the way in which the elements are located, although the most complicated factor appeared when applying the color, with so many whites it was quite difficult to achieve those subtle color variations to differentiate the elements.
The mountains that can be seen in the middle of the canvas were applied with a lot of turpentine and little pigment to give a transparency effect on the white colors of the background.

Esta pintura es un encargo de parte de una compañera de la ciudad de Mérida, me encargó 3 pequeñas réplicas de la cual esta es la primera, la hice en un lienzo de 45 cm x 35 cm, con pinturas de óleo sobre lienzo de tela previamente curado, el dibujo fue realmente complicado por la forma en la que estan ubicados los elementos, aunque el factor mas complicado aparecio al momento de aplicar el color, con tal cantidad de blancos fue bastante dificil conseguir esas variaciones sutiles de color para diferenciar los elementos.
Las montañas que se ven en la zona media del lienzo fueron aplicadas con bastante aguarrás y poco pigmento para dar un efecto de transparencia sobre los colores blancos del fondo.
