Los palafitos son casas construidas sobre pilares de madera, en la superficie del mar. Para mi clase de historia el año pasado me pidieron hacer una ilustración sobre una historia que cuenta que antes el sol se movía rápidamente y la luna iba siempre tras de él, así que los aldeanos del lugar decidieron lanzar una tortuga al cielo para que el sol siguiera su ritmo y así hacer que los días y las noches funcionen como lo hacen en la actualidad.
Palafitos are houses built on wooden pillars on the surface of the sea. For my history class last year I was asked to make an illustration about a story that the sun used to move fast and the moon was always behind it, so the local villagers decided to throw a turtle into the sky so that the sun would follow its rhythm and make the days and nights work as they do today.
