A new painting playing on the "polka dot plant" and the polka dot of a Dalmatian.
Another piece in my Animals with plants series. I love polka dot plants, I've a few, and when choosing a plant for the breed Dalmatian with it's famous "spots" I had to use this plant of course.
The popular houseplant Polkadot plant comes in many shades from deep red 'dots' to pale pink and white.
Here is the sketch for the watercolor. I'll go back and do a dark outline in digital ink, cleaning up the lines which will then be part of my coloring book project and I'll also do an iteration in oil pastels, which is another 'style' I really love to use.
Sketched and ready for watercolor
I like him with the background shut off as well, with the stark white of the page.
I'm enjoying having a few series on going as it allows me to focus whilst also have variety based on how I feel for the day. I've a daily art time slot in my schedule and knowing I can choose which series to putter about with is just enough focus to give me that boost to stick with my daily art.
Do you give yourself a schedule for your art or craft? and if so , do you do so daily or with various days off? I'm always curious how other creatives work and divide their days.
Thank you for joining me today and I hope you get a moment in your day to indulge in your own passions; Stay Creative!

This is a wonderful piece of work!!! I love the aesthetics of the colors and the irregular strokes give it a beautiful style!!!!!

Gosh, thank you so much @etorobong
You're welcome
Arent Dalmatians the cutest? Well captured!
Yes, I love them. I had an aunt who used to breed them, so there was always the 'Cruella Deville' jokes haha. Tho she never reached 101 of them.

Beautiful piece!
Such a beautiful image 😍 I have started to put time aside daily for art/creativity. I move between learning to draw, woodturning and crocheting! I think it helps to focus and calm the mind
