Colors of the day - where the h*** did winter go?

in Sketchbooklast year

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I've been here, and I have no idea how long I'll stay this time, to tell you the truth. I could make excuses for my busy workload and other obligations, but that would only be part of the truth. As a matter of fact, I wasn't quite sure what I really wanted to show here.

I recently started a few courses to improve or solidify my professional skills. I think I have not done much in this area over the past year, and my self-esteem has dropped severely. While doing lessons on colors, I suddenly had an idea. I decided to create a color palettes (2 - 3 times a week) based on a photo taken the current day and post them here. It will allow me to blog regularly (I hope) and motivate me to continue exercising. Colors are best chosen by nature itself, so I'll have to go out for a walk to find inspiration.

I decided not to procrastinate on the idea because my inner critic would convinced me that it sucks by tomorrow.

I went for a walk in the afternoon, so I didn't have time to take advantage of the full sun. In addition, winter without snow looks extremely unfavorable, so the color palette is rather dark and poorly saturated.

At first, I chose eight colors, but it seemed to me too many.

So, in the end, I reduced the number of them to five.

For known reasons, I named this palette "Where the h*** did winter go?"

I had fun enough to make a quick sketch from the photo, by the way. I'm not a good illustrator, so I didn't force myself to make a faithful copy. I just wanted to see if I had chosen the color palette accurately.

Not bad!

I wonder what colors the next few days will bring me!

I loved this post, excellent idea to get the color palette out of a photo 📷. Well you did well, you chose the exact palette from the photo. Although you say you are not an illustrator, you did a great job on the painting 🙌. Greetings, @innermy 🤗.

Thank you @vezo, very pleased to hear it 😊🌸

This is really beautiful, I love the play of colors , and the fact that you were able to depict the sky and the sea , also showing distance with some deep and faint colors !!! Lovely piece !!

Thank you for your detailed comment and appreciation of my skills! 😊😊

Everly!!! I like your content!! Keep it up !!

This is soo nice, it's so hard to begin anything. I hope you keep up your exercise and share with us your amazing colour pellete and looks like I'll also have to take some initiative to get started with my figure drawings. will go out and stalk people from this evening 🤣.

Thank you!
Yes, the hardest thing is to start and not get discouraged seeing the first results ;)

looks like I'll also have to take some initiative to get started with my figure drawings

Your sketches are great, I wish I was on this level. But practicing is always good :)

you are obviously better than me 😅, what I do you can easily do but I can't do what you are doing. Maybe with a lot of practice, I could do but not now.
