David

He sang, composed, wrote lyrics, but he was also an artist. He painted and collected art. Such a free soul. I generally admire him. But what was he really like?

Maybe the people we admire have their own dark secrets, maybe the fact that they are adored by others deprives them of something important.
Maybe they would be happier being just a small cog in the machine.

Hey @kittykate,
Great drawing🙌
I identified the face immediately.
I read your words, and your questions evoked emotions and sparked my interest.
People do glorify celebrities and sometimes forget to ask important questions like what you have asked.

I was lucky to have met and interacted with him, as David Jones (not as David Bowie, BUT unfortunately, I didn't get to "🎵put on my red shoes and dance the blues" 🎶). He was a fairly quiet man. Very pleasant, and always smiling. He loved his wife and was happy to communicate with normal people like me. He was a regular guest at the resort I worked at, up to his last few years. Both him and his wife are amazingly caring, humble, and grounded individuals.

I got the feeling that he was at peace with himself... So, yes, maybe he had dark secrets, as many people do...but he enjoyed being a regular person away from the spotlight.

Thanks for your beautiful drawing 😍

Hey @millycf1976.
What you wrote is one of the most beautiful things that came to me in the last few days. I'm so glad you described him, I'm so glad he was a good, kind man.
I needed such an optimistic message from someone I don't know, about someone I don't know.
I used to draw only people I knew in person. I could experience them, I knew their emotions. That was important to me. Now I am having a very bad time in my life. I have a problem to live. I realized that whether I know someone or not does not give me an advantage in drawing. I can know someone for several years and he can suddenly turn out to be someone else.

Thank you again for your comment.

Wow! Your reply is a touching one too.
I'm sorry that you're going through a difficult time🙏🤗, and I'm happy that my response made you feel good. I hope you'll have better days soon🌈.

I have a keen interest in portraiture drawing, and capturing emotions and personalities is what I would love to master. You seem to do that so well. I took a look at some of your others.

I think Iman would have admired that drawing of David😍

Absolutely! That can be a big downfall our disadvantage sometimes.

Have a lovely day 💐
