I return to this house, which I already feel is mine and this time I bring a new portrait.
As a result of my previous publication, in which I shared a portrait inspired by the geisha Mineko Iwasaki, I have decided to undertake a project which I will title Vogue. Yes, just like the Madonna song.
Background
In this series of portraits I will be making drawings of iconic women from Universal History, under my own vision and in which I will be exploring different facial expressions that characterize the character emotionally beyond the physical. So they will be my impressions taken to the graphic plane, with the pencil technique on manufactured cardboard.
For the occasion I bring The Rogue Queen, my version of the jovial and uninhibited character of the very famous Marie Antoinette of Austria, Queen consort of Louis XVI.
It is a snapshot of the teenage queen, whose mischief and charm are perceived in her seductive smile, an idea that I also want to reinforce by giving prominence with the expressiveness of her eyebrows.
What can we say about this monarch that we don't already know? Loved for her great style, her artistic patronage, her glamorous life; hated for her somewhat dissipated behavior and her little empathy for the French people, capable of provoking the first bloody acts of what would later become the Revolution. "Let them eat cake!" said the queen... And her very beautiful gray head was left in a basket after the guillotine cut.

Hola, familia hermosa de #Sketchbook.
Regreso a esta casa, que ya siento como mía y en esta ocasión traigo un nuevo retrato.
A consecuencia de mi anterior publicación, en la que compartí un retrato inspirado en la geisha Mineko Iwasaki, he decidido emprender un proyecto al cual titularé Vogue. Sí, así mismo, como la canción de Madonna.
Fundamentación
En esta serie de retratos estaré haciendo dibujos de mujeres icónicas de la Historia Universal, bajo mi propia visión y en los que estaré explorando diferentes expresiones faciales que caractericen al personaje emocionalmente más allá de lo físico. Así que serán mis impresiones llevadas al plano gráfico, con la técnica de lápiz sobre cartulina manufacturada.
Para la ocasión traigo a La Pícara Reina, mi versión sobre el carácter jovial y desinhibido de la muy famosa María Antonieta de Austria, Reina consorte de Luis XVI.
Es una instantánea de la reina adolescente, cuya picardía y encanto se perciben en la sonrisa seductora, idea que además quiero reforzar dando protagonismo con la expresividad de sus cejas.
¿Qué decir de esta monarca que no sepamos ya? Amada por su gran estilo, su mecenazgo artístico, su glamourosa vida; odiada por su conducta algo disipada y su poca empatía por el pueblo francés, capaz de suscitar los primeros actos sangrientos de lo que después sería la Revolución. ¡Que coman pastel!—dijo la reina... Y su muy hermosa cabeza cana quedó en una cesta tras el corte de la guillotina.
