The most important moments in our lives happen at the threshold. Whatever that means to you – at the boundary between dreams and reality, on the edge between decision and hesitation, between longing and uncertainty.
This painting captures exactly that kind of liminal space. It's that magical moment of sunset when the day is dying but night hasn't yet taken the stage. A place where waves kiss the shore. And the young woman in white dress with dark hair flowing in the wind – maybe she's standing at her own threshold too. Does she carry secrets? Does she hold dreams? Vulnerable yet strong, small against the vastness of the ocean, but infinitely important to herself.
Ty nejdůležitější věci v našem životě se odehrávají na rozhraní. Ať už to znamená cokoliv – na rozhraní snu a skutečnosti, na hraně mezi rozhodnutím a váháním, mezi touhou a nejistotou.
Na tomto obraze je taky takové rozhraní. Je to okamžik západu slunce, kdy den už končí ale noc ještě nevstoupila na scénu. Místo, kde se vlny dotýkají pláže. A mladá žena, v bílých šatech a s tmavými vlasy vlajícími ve větru je možná taky na rozhraní. Má tajemství? Má sny? Zranitelná, ale zároveň silná, malá před velikostí oceánu, ale nekonečně důležitá pro sebe sama.
A možná každý z nás stál někdy na nějakém břehu, a obával se udělat ten krok, kdy opustíme jistotu známého písku a vkročíme do neznámých vod. Kdy jsme na hraně toho, co bylo a co by mohlo být…
Šla pískem, tváře zářící,
slova bral jí z úst vítr sílící,
šla pískem touhy a váhání
bosá dívenka krásná jak svítání.
Znám ten písek, ten vítr, tu pláž,
jsem tvá touha, jsem tvé váhání,
jsem tvé dětství, tvůj sen, tvoje stráž,
která ohníčky v očích ti chrání.

Když jsem se naposledy procházel po mořském pobřeží a kochal se soumračným obzorem, přemýšlel jsem o svém místě na světě, když se mi zdá, že nikam nemohu zapadnout.
