Remaking a warrior Angel.
Rehaciendo a un Ángel guerrero.
Greetings my dear reader friends, today I want to present you what would be a "remastering" of an old drawing. This time with a fresher touch and with some elements that Shira at that time had no idea how to do.
Saludos mis queridos amigos lectores, el día de hoy les quiero presentar lo que sería una “remasterización” de un antiguo dibujo. Esta vez con un toque más fresco y con algunos elementos que la Shira de ese momento no tenía idea de cómo hacer.
Sometimes I look at some of my old drawings and I start to see a lot of mistakes but I repeat to myself that it is part of growing as an artist and it is "normal" but these days while I was looking at my old drawings I noticed that one of the drawings I like the most "the angel" had many things that could be improved and I wondered how that same idea would be with my current level (half level higher lol )
Algunas veces me pongo a ver algunos de los dibujos viejo y comienzo a ver muchos errores pero me repito que es parte del crecimiento como artista y que es “normal” pero en estos días mientras veía mis dibujos viejos observe que uno de los dibujos que más me gusta “el ángel” tenía muchas cosas que podía mejorar y me pregunte como seria esa misma idea con mi nivel actual (medio nivel más alto lol )
I got down to work and since I had the Photoshop file I just worked on top of what I had already done... basically I saw my previous painting as a sketch.
Me puse manos a la obra y como tenía el archivo Photoshop solo trabaje arriba de lo que ya tenía realizado… básicamente vi mi anterior pintura como un boceto.
The process to make it was quite nice, since I added shadows where they didn't even exist before and I modified some parts of the body that were made in a very rough and disproportionate way. I also modified the hair a little bit and although I kept the color I tried to give it a new life incorporating some more detail. The metallic part also gave me some work but even though it didn't match the new version I was able to accommodate it better. The element that I was almost determined to remove was the wings since I really didn't like to see those angel wings so simple... so I decided to destroy his wings and leave only the metal skeleton accentuating more his almost destroyed shape.
El proceso para realizarlo fue bastante agradable, ya que agregue sombras donde ni siquiera existían anteriormente y modifique algunas partes del cuerpo que fueron realizadas de forma muy tosca y desproporcionada. El cabello también lo modifique un poco y aunque mantuve el color trate de darle una nueva vida incorporando algo más de detalle. La parte metálica también me dio algo de trabajo pero aunque no coincidían con la nueva versión pude acomodarla mejor. El elemento que estuve casi decidida a quitar fueron las alas ya que realmente no me gustaba ver esas alas de ángel tan simples… entonces decidí destrozar y dejar solo el esqueleto metálico acentuando más su forma casi destruida.
For the background I added a gradient color and a small frame of light that gives a very mystical feeling in my opinion... I also incorporated a "celestial" light to which this dying angel stretches out his hand with his last strength.
Para el fondo agregue un color degradado y un pequeño cuadro de luz que da una sensación muy mística a mi parecer… igualmente incorpore una luz “celestial” a la que este ángel moribundo estira su mano con sus últimas fuerzas.
I will leave the old version and the current version for you to compare and appreciate the difference between the old piece and the current piece.
Les dejare la versión antigua y la actual para que comparen y aprecien la diferencia entre la pieza antigua y la pieza actual.
