Hello to all the dear Hive.blog community, I'm back again with another drawing post, my third entry to the art contest sponsored by @Splinterlands. It has been quite a rewarding experience these posts, as they force me out of my comfort zone a bit and especially this character which I chose.
The Charlok Minotaur, is a powerful race of warriors that live in the depths of the planet, where only creatures of pure fire can survive. They are always ready for battle, where they take pleasure in demonstrating their thirst for fiery destruction.
At first I thought it would be an easy design, but as I progressed in it I realized how elaborate it was going to be, especially for my lack of experience in the development of this type of designs, I learned many interesting things, which I plan to implement in my next works, and gradually improve as an artist, there is still a long way to go.
Next I show you the step by step of the development of the illustration, I hope you like it.
Hola a toda la querida comunidad de Hive.blog, nuevamente estoy de vuelta con otro post de dibujo, mi tercera entrada al concurso de arte que patrocina @Splinterlands. Ha sido toda una experiencia gratificante estos post, ya que me obligan salir un poco de mi zona de confort y sobre todo este personaje el cual elegí.
El Charlok Minotaur, es una poderosa raza de guerreros que viven en las profundidades del planeta, donde solo las criaturas de fuego puro pueden sobrevivir. Siempre están preparados para la batalla, donde se complacen en demostrar su sed de ardiente destrucción.
Al inicio pensé que sería un diseño fácil, pero a medida que avanzaba en el mismo me di cuenta lo elaborado que iba ser, sobre todo por mi falta de experiencia en el desarrollo de este tipo de diseños, aprendí muchas cosas interesantes, las cuales pienso implementar en mis próximas obras, así poco a poco ir mejorando como artista, todavía queda mucho camino por recorrer.
A continuación les muestro el paso a paso del desarrollo de la ilustración, espero sea de su agrado.
Drawing development / Desarrollo ✏️
Here I wanted to represent the character of Charlok Minotaur with a more realistic touch, keeping certain animated and fantasy details that characterizes the original design, for the development and ease of it, I divided the character into several sections, such as head, hands, body and other accessories, each painted separately to be able to apply more comfortably the different effects and textures.
Acá quise representar al personaje de Charlok Minotaur con un toque más realista, manteniendo ciertos detalles animados y fantasiosos que caracteriza el diseño original, para el desarrollo y facilidad del mismo, al personaje lo dividí en varias secciones, como fueron cabeza, manos, cuerpo y demás accesorios, cada una pintadas por separado para poder aplicarle con mayor comodidad los diferentes efectos y texturas.
With quick and simple strokes we make the sketch of our Minotaur, we place the different accessories and clothes that she wears, then we opacify this layer and in another one we begin to place the base colors, using desaturated tones.
Con trazos rápidos y sencillos realizamos el boceto de nuestro Minotauro, colocamos los diferentes accesorios e indumentarias que ella lleva, seguidamente opacamos esta capa y en otra empezamos a colocar los colores base, usando tonalidades desaturadas.

This step basically consists of shaping the body of the Minotaruo, at the beginning it was a little difficult because I had no idea how to do the process, since it is the first time I do a design in this style. I started to give shape to the muscles, accentuating the shadows and the shines to give it volume, this process I repeated it in the different sections of the character.
Este paso consiste básicamente en ir dando forma al cuerpo del Minotaruo, al principio me costó un poco ya que no tenía idea en cómo realizar el proceso, ya que es la primera vez que realizo un diseño a este estilo. Empecé a darle forma a los músculos, acentuando las sombras y los brillos para darle volumen, este proceso lo repetí en las diversas secciones del personaje.

After finishing the details of the Minotaur's body, I proceed to design the weapons and accessories that the character carries, such as the belt, the axe and the spiked ball with chain. We use some textured brushes, as well as different layers in blend mode multiply and add until we obtain the desired tonality.
Al terminar de darle los detalles al cuerpo del Minotauro, procedo a diseñar las armas y accesorios que lleva el personaje, como el cinturón, el hacha y la bola de púas con cadena. Usamos ciertos pinceles texturizados, además de diferentes capas en modo mezcla multiplicar y añadir hasta obtener la tonalidad deseada.

Once we have obtained our base drawing with the different tonalities, textures, shadows and light areas, comes the part that I consider the most fun, which is to place the lighting effects, we use different layers in blend mode to add and overexpose to illuminate certain parts. Finally we draw a background with an infernal theme, under a night covered with a thick fog.
Una vez obtenido nuestro dibujo base con las diferentes tonalidades, texturas, sombras y zonas claras, viene la parte que considero la más divertida, la cual es colocar los efectos de luces, usamos diferentes capas en modo mezcla añadir y sobre exposición para iluminar ciertas partes. Finalmente dibujamos un fondo con temática infernal, bajo una noche cubierta de una bruma espesa.
