Do We Really Need Any Type of Tracking App to End This Pandemic?

If you still believe that the governments and information services in your country can't have access to almost all of your data, and probably everything that you typed or talked on your phone, than you probably trust too much in your government, haven't ever heard of such practices exposed by Edward Snowden for years, or you're living in a wonderland and simply don't give a shit.

There is a lot of debate recently on the internet regarding Google and Apple's intention of creating a tracking app that WOULD HELP COMBAT THE COVID-19 for good and I simply hate this idea. How the fuck can it do that? Impossible. Only a strong immune system can do that and of course precaution measures, involving social distancing to some extent, but no fucking app will ever solve anything about this virus. It will for sure officially give governments more control over our private lives through two of the world's biggest tech giants, but nothing more.

We aren't retarded, nor blind. They said we should stay inside as much as possible and that's what we do. If we get out in gatherings, then there's lots of policemen on the streets to fine us or to send us home. Period. And if we really really wish to gather in groups at anyone's home... than it's our own damn business and risk that we assume, but most don't do that. It's a flu after all, and I don't see any point in halting the planet and transform it into a universal prison for this virus.

I stated plenty of times and will do that again, I don't trust the numbers that are being made public regarding the number of deaths due to coronavirus. I have my suspicions that people who died from other causes have been counted as COVID-19 caused deaths, based on symptoms, or simply to create the pandemic.

What I do believe is what Washington Post reported on June 7, 2013 regarding the FBI and US government trespassing constitutional rights and violating citizens privacy and freedom. Here you have an excerpt from that report and make your own conclusions on that.

The National Security Agency and the FBI are tapping directly into the central servers of nine leading U.S. Internet companies, extracting audio and video chats, photographs, e-mails, documents, and connection logs that enable analysts to track foreign targets, according to a top-secret document obtained by The Washington Post. The program, code-named PRISM, has not been made public until now.

Who do you think offered all the data they needed? Again from The Washington Post: These were the nine companies listed on a leaked NSA slideshow with information about the PRISM program: Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, PalTalk, AOL, Skype, YouTube, and Apple. Do you see anyone missing? I doubt. They have all the important players sharing our privacy for free.

And now Google and Apple wish to create a tracking app to save us from the virus... Wondering what the app will do exactly? Here's the answer:

The broadcast would not identify the infected person, it would just alert the recipient that someone in his or her recent orbit had been infected. And, importantly, the companies say they are not collecting data on people’s identities and infection status. Nearly all of the data and communication would be stored on users’ phones.

That's just crap... We know that they know our names based on sim card registrations, IMEIs, google accounts, facebook accounts and so on, and now the mass surveillance just needs a legal framework to become a permanent reality, and an undesired one, so who are they trying to fool. Not me... and I don't support CryptoPotato's blockchain based app idea either. There shouldn't be any tracking app at all. Period. We're humans, not animals, thus blockchain or not, this app shouldn't exist.

I've been saying right from the beginning that this pandemic is so much more about stealing from us rather than protecting us, and governments practices towards protecting us from the virus are the living proof. If you are interested to boost your immune system than learn Wim Hof's breathing exercises for that, the man that offered himself to get infected with the virus to prove how a strong immune system can defeat it.

Strong immune systems is what we need mister politics. Vitamin D from the loving sun that misses us and we miss him, Vitamin C, exercise, breathing techniques and a stress free life. Why don't they promote that? Because they really don't want us healthy or free, otherwise they would not bombard us with this message of panic as on youtube every freakin day, and would instead offer liable non intrusive solutions to heal and protect ourselves.

It is an attack on our complete integrity as a human being! A revolution should be starting

Agree. We should all get out and do something, peacefully.

And the alternative could be 10s of thousands more people dieing?

Probably, but all free.

Life is more important than money

I don't know if this virus is as lethal as they say or if it is man-made or whatever. What I know is that it is used as the perfect alibi from the governments all over the globe to implement all their vicious plans that they couldn't put forward under normal circumstances and the world will never be the same again...

Exactly. That's what many around the world are noticing, but we don't have a way to protest because they force us to stay inside. To be honest in my town almost nobody asks these type of questions.

People notice. It is just that the terrified ones are many times more than the ones that notice.

Duno about that. Most people are human here and just want to rid the world of this awful disease

The way I see it, if the government failed by not preparing properly and slowing the spread then what other choice do they have? At the moment I think most people are focused on getting through this.

To many people are anti. It worth a try if needed. Luckily here in NZ I think it wont be tho

Dealing with the virus is one thing and using apps to track people is another. In my opinion this app is not needed at all.
