I would say SQL is one of the easier languages, and there are a wealth of resources online.
Any questions on the data structure let me know and I'll try to help.

I have not seen any but could be wrong. Check @steemsql's feed - the original project (and almost identical data structure).
'Fortunately' it's not heavily normalized, most tables can be used stand alone.
