I'm going to keep it short because there is not much I can add to the plethora of reactions that have ensued since Stinc retaliated to the Soft Fork by the top witnesses. The despicable and underhanded tactics employed by Steemit to forcefully take control of their Stakes and effectively, the blockchain has left a sour taste, and it is one that will not be going away anytime soon.
It has led to some emotional decisions like shutting down dapps, turning off servers and the likes from certain usurped witnesses, and that will make things a lot worst for everyday Steemians. I'm not going to mention any specifics, but please reconsider your decision.
I don't understand the technical and/or economic effect of this horrible move by Steemit, but I do understand the pain of spending all these years building it from scratch and toiling to get Steem across. I know that it is fucked up that one powerful man can swoop in and fuck up a system that we've spent all these years building. I'm sorry about the pain you feel and believe me, I understand it.
However, I also understand that you're emotional about Steem and your love for the platform is way more important than some title. I want you to know that our witness votes, those of us that believe in you and support your decisions still stands. I want you to know that even though you're not "running the show", in our mind, you're always going to hold high regards. You're OUR WITNESSES and I can live with that.
I want you to know that for a lot of people like me who don't even follow or keep up with the technicalities of this place, you resonate with us emotionally and all the support to various initiatives and projects you've given was always appreciated. I want you to know that you ultimately still have our faith and support.
I want you to remember that irrespective of who has more stakes, the real power is in your voice and you're the one that we truly listen to. I want you to remember that on Steem, we don't "work" for anyone and the selling point of this platform is that everyone can earn from their content through votes. We're still Steem, and in these trying times, we need to stay together.
In summary: fuck those guys, we got you.
At this point, Steem / Steemit / Dapps circumstance has become like watching a slow motion train wreck.
Far past the point where we should be expecting positive outcomes from owners who only care about profits, even if it's at the expense of the platform.
Man I'm shitting bricks right now
If I had any serious money invested, I would feel the same way.
Now, the platform is really only used as a free hosting service for me.
