We, here in Hive, are a community and this community is made up of each of us, as a distinct personality and different groups in which people with similar interests have gathered. Communities.
These communities are many, everyone can try to make a community but to be able to gather a larger group of people is not easy at all. It must be a catalyst.
Because there are so many communities, some valuable and helping its members but there may be some that ultimately do not deliver what they promise, this new initiative of @theycallmedan can certainly make better known those communities in which it is worth participating . I am not a specialist and I can only share my experience with some communities in the hope that I can help someone undecided or uninformed. If someone reads all the posts with this #hivecommunities tag they will surely find at least one community that meets their needs.
Before talking about the communities that are dear to me, I can't help but mention two very important communities, among the largest, which are a real help for their members, which promote the original content and aim to retain users: OCD and GEMS. Alas, how much I would have liked them to have existed three years ago when I entered this platform.
My favorite communities
In my opinion, communities can be successful because of the owner and administrators, the members or because of the topic they promote.
MarketFriday
Some communities were made up of those who used to post in a certain Challenge. These challenges, very popular, and some groups in Discord have turned into communities.
Market Friday derives from the challenge of the same name, proposed by @dswigle who is also the community administrator. She is that catalyst that keeps the community together. Members of this community write a post every week (Friday, you guessed it!). About the way and places they shop.
It seems like a poor subject but it's not like that at all, you can write about anything, from travel to photography, I've been writing for almost three years every week and I haven't exhausted the subject!
In this community, the administrator, @dswigle, is the one who attracts the attention of the members as well. He is, I think, the only administrator who reads and comments on all posts within the group. Comments that refer to all the content and that are relevant and helpful to the author. This ensures the success of the group and the fact that the members are active and post regularly. I think it is the most social community, this being due primarily to the activity of the administrator and less to the interaction between members.

Another community run by @jaynie. Initially a select group on Discord where it was difficult to enter, I remember that I had to wait more than a month to be accepted as a member. This is a much larger and more complex community, with many initiatives, joint activities, contests and a lot of valuable information. This is mainly due to the administrator, @jaynie, a very active, determined woman. The way this community acts has made the interaction and help between members to be maximum.
Who wants to meet very interesting and special people, who wants to learn from the successful ones must definitely want to be in PHC!

It's about travel and places visited. Although the administrator and curators are exceptional, first and foremost is the topic that attracts. Travel is the most enjoyable time of our lives and everyone wants to share impressions and information about their travels.
This is the best place to do it. The most beautiful blogs are here. It is a pleasure to read them and arouse an unstoppable desire to travel. Many tips to travel safely and at the lowest cost. Breathtaking photos of the most beautiful places on earth.
