Hello Hive Fam!
To say the last few days have been exciting would be a massive understatement. This feels similar to good ol' days of 2017/2018 when everything was running to the moon. The difference here is that it seems to be just us. 👀
I'm so proud of this community and everything that has been happening to grow this eco-system. As I said in a recent tweet... I've been kind of obsessed with refreshing my blockfolio and watching the price action.
Yesterday morning when I woke up to $.40 HIVE I was such a mix of excited and confused as to why we had such a historic leap (now look at us 🚀) and so I posed the question on twitter. There has been a lot of fun discussion on that post - and so thanks for sharing all of your thoughts everyone!

Hive Getting Massive Attention on Bittrex
I've been poking around the interwebs seeing what kind of attention this price action is getting and was really pleasantly surprised when I popped by Bittrex to see Hive everywhere on their home page!
Hive is literally called out four times in the first few seconds that you are on the exchange:
- A scrolling banner image
- Mentioned for top volume
- Mentioned for highest % gain
- Featured by itself as a favorite market
The last point there about the favorite market is incredibly cool. That is not a normal section on the Bittrex homepage and the fact that it is listed alone and gives a direct link for people to go to the BTC-Hive market is really great.
Why does attention like this matter? Bittrex is one of the largest and most credible crypto exchanges in the world that get's a large amount of daily traffic. If I was just a normal crypto investor and had never heard of Hive before - this kind of display would make me pause and take a moment to see what this Hive thing was all about.
Why Isn't this Getting more Crypto Mainstream Attention?
One thing that I think is a little peculiar is that this hasn't seemed to have gotten much press or attention yet in the larger crypto arena. I haven't seen much mention from youtuber's, well-known traders or crypto media.
I'd love to get your thoughts on why you think that is below. Do you think people are waiting to see where the price settles after the big run before making any commentary?
What Happen's Next
Speaking of that - everything right now is super bullish and incredibly exciting, but I do think people should realistically expect the price to drop after this big run and consolidate into a different price. That being said... it's my hope that our "new normal" after this big run is significantly higher than the previous $.10-.18 cents we were before. If we can even land at around the $.30 mark and be twice the price of Steem - I would count that as a major victory.
For now... enjoy the big run and be proud of yourselves and all the work this community has done.

NewsBTC and the like are known to have made stories about much less. Could it be CZ and Sun pulling strings behind the scenes? Who knows. Maybe they have a more comprehensive story than usual in the works.
It's strange that YouTubers and well-known traders on Twitter or elsewhere are mostly silent. These people should be enthusiastic about Hive succeeding because they're the ones being shadowbanned and outright kicked out of YouTube. Maybe they are embarrassed over not walking the walk when it comes to supporting decentralization.

Yeah I think if Hive had gotten more commentary from these youtuber's and traders we could have seen an even higher price run - but we'll see what happens. We'll likely see a price correction soon, but may still get some media coverage from this.

I'm guessing that it was the Huobi announcement that initiated this run.
Yeah I think it's that plus the giveaway that's happening Huobi. We'll likely see a price correction here d on - but the overall market cap we've seen for Hive over the last few days is pretty impressive. I'm just curious to see what price we land at after it crashes back down. Keeping me fingers crossed it's somewhere at least in the $.30 mark.
Yeap, already seeing that drop lol. Although, I think we'll see another good spike if/when Binance lists Hive.
All in all a good little push forward for the community. Lots of attention so far this year hehe.

It is interesting that 0.4$ to 0.7$ seems like a big move whereas in the land of crypto, this is....basic ishhh...but because it means a lot to us it is a fuvking big deal....cheers to breaking record....

This a crazy run right now. I’m hoping that this is a sustainable run not just a pump and dump...
A run of this magnitude is rarely sustainable - so I'd mentally prepare for a price correction BUT it's still fun to enjoy the run and it is my hope that we land at a higher price than we did before!
Yes I agree. I bought HBD hoping that it stays more stable and I can but back more HIVE when the price drops.
Yes, I was also looking for crypto press articles about this and couldn't find.
Maybe they want to see the high price sustain for a while rather than just risk reporting another pump & dump.
I think we will see more now that Binance has listed Hive - but who knows! The fact that CZ has tweeted about it is pretty big.
I have been enjoying watching it rise so quickly, but it also worries me. I feel like anything that seems too good to be true actually is too good to be true.😂

Thanks for letting me know! Everything is showing properly on my end - so it may be your internet connection. I've noticed that if my wifi or data is bad, it will do stuff like that instead of load the picture.

Yeah that's my point exactly.- it's pretty obviously a pump that was started by the Huobi giveaway, but I'm just hoping we land at a higher over price when it crashes.
