You can use regression analysis and factor analysis on both economic and administrative constructs in the social sciences. And a social science we have, if we have two or more than two persons.
You cannot avoid to going to the logic of scientific discovery in every discipline in the sciences. And regression analysis can be used to measure causes and effects in a model. A cause is an independent variable and an effect is an dependent variable. The word regression means a development in the opposite direction, or going back in human nature, and we use that logic in medicine and in psychology. The opposite way of seeing the regression is progression, and that is a condition in future. So, therefore we are using regression analysis to describe and find the development in history with regards to dependent and independent variable. And we can also use many variables in this kind of analysis. It is stupid to deny measurement in causal analysis, because where you have constructs and items, you can model the relationship between the variables with boxes and arrows.
We also have reflective and formative models, and we can use our cognitive talents to find what factor that affects another factor, and we are using items measuring the concepts, to measure the right things. When we have models, there is either a causal understanding between the variables or the constructs, or there can be an inter-related connections between the variables or the constructs, and there can also be none connection between the things we are measuring. Everything we can put a number on, is therefore subjected to measurement. We find this logic in many disciplines in the sciences, and we should use much philosophy and many ways of understanding conventional and new ways in sciences for grasping the reality.
We should always win any scientific competition, and any scientist that are thinking in badly ways, will be revealed today and rejected. And this has nothing to do with which country and/or university you are coming from, but it has something to do with the ways you are thinking. Every statement should be understandable, and every thing that you find in the literature, should be metacognitive and cognitive in the right ways. And we should use the best ranked universities in the world, to get the best environments.
Any person employed in a school at high level, has his logical explanation for what he or she is doing or not. We should be liberal, free, and precise in what we are doing, and therefore we cannot interrupt the scientific development and the scientific progress with wrong ways of thinking. Use your mind, and make your protests if you do not agree in what is doing. Be conscious and aware about doing what you are doing. Measurement is about find the content to the variables or the constructs, and we should use numbers, variances and/or covariances or correlations to find what should be what, and where the what should be.
Any model is an inclusion or an exclusion about which factors or variables that can affect the situations that are present in reality. And when formulating the model, we should find the items that measure what we should be measuring. Any measuring attempt is trying to find what is really the relations, and to find the details in the analysis we are trying to do.
Nothing should be pill rotten, nor in the crotch. We should use our whole body in the sciences, and we should use our thinking capacities to be better than anyone else! That is true through the whole planet! See the philosophy of NHH in Bergen in the picture downstairs!
