¿Quién soy? Who am I?
Comenzar en cualquier cosa que nos propongamos lograr siempre es un reto. Nunca es fácil, pero ese camino estará lleno de aprendizaje y experiencias enriquecedoras que nos harán alcanzar nuestras metas en la vida. Hoy con muchas expectativas me presento ante la comunidad de Hive. Mi nombre es Fael Jiménez, pero mi familia y mis amigos me dicen Jim. Tengo 37 años y vivo en Valencia, una ciudad industrial ubicada en Venezuela.
Getting started in anything we set out to achieve is always a challenge. It is never easy, but that path will be full of learning and enriching experiences that will make us achieve our goals in life. Today, it is with great expectations that I introduce myself to the Hive community. My name is Fael Jimenez, but my family and friends call me Jim. I am 37 years old and I live in Valencia, an industrial city located in Venezuela.
Mi niñez y la escuela primaria. My childhood and elementary school.
Desde que era un niño sentí la necesidad de comunicarme con los demás a través de palabras escritas, ya que era un chico tímido que hablaba muy poco. Esto contribuyó a despertar mi interés por los libros para niños cómo “El principito” de Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, “Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer” de Mark Twain y los cuentos clásicos como “Hansel y Gretel” de los hermanos Grimm; libros que aunque no entendía del todo, comenzaron a desarrollar mi capacidad para escribir pequeñas historias de todo tipo, especialmente aquellas dedicadas al misterio y la fantasía. El apoyo de mis padres, hermanos y maestros fue muy importante para superar los obstáculos y concluir mis estudios de primaria, dando paso a una nueva etapa de mi vida.
Ever since I was a child I felt the need to communicate with others through written words, as I was a shy boy who spoke very little. This contributed to awaken my interest in children's books such as "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" by Mark Twain and classic tales such as "Hansel and Gretel" by the Brothers Grimm; books that although I did not fully understand, began to develop my ability to write short stories of all kinds, especially those dedicated to mystery and fantasy. The support of my parents, siblings and teachers was very important to overcome the obstacles and conclude my elementary school studies, giving way to a new stage of my life.

Con la llegada de la adolescencia, mi afición como ávido lector fue en aumento. Leí mi primera novela llamada “Piedra de Mar” del escritor venezolano Francisco Massiani, algo que marcó mi pasión por la literatura, y en ese instante supe que era algo que me acompañaría siempre. Y así fueron pasando por mis manos diferentes novelas y libros de cuentos, siendo los de más grato recuerdo “Cuentos de la selva” del escritor uruguayo Horacio Quiroga, “Relato de un náufrago” del gran Gabriel García Márquez, “Viaje al centro de la tierra” de Julio Verne, “Las primeras hojas de la noche” y “Con agua en la piel” nuevamente de Francisco Massiani, uno de mis escritores favoritos; entre otros.
With the arrival of adolescence, my fondness as an avid reader increased. I read my first novel called "Piedra de Mar" by the Venezuelan writer Francisco Massiani, something that marked my passion for literature, and at that moment I knew it was something that would accompany me forever. And so different novels and books of short stories passed through my hands, the most pleasant memories being "Cuentos de la selva" by the Uruguayan writer Horacio Quiroga, "Relato de un náufrago" by the great Gabriel García Márquez, "Viaje al centro de la tierra" by Julio Verne, "Las primeras hojas de la noche" and "Con agua en la piel" again by Francisco Massiani, one of my favorite writers; among others.
Fue en ese entonces, gracias a la lectura que empecé a escribir sobre otros géneros, ya no era sólo fantasía o misterio, sino también comencé a escribirle al amor, y a reflejar los sentimientos y sensaciones propias de la edad que se plasmaban en escritos cargados de erotismo y sensualidad. Fue así como entre juegos y libros, los años transcurrieron hasta que me gradué de la escuela secundaria obteniendo el título de Bachiller en Ciencias.
It was at that time, thanks to reading that I began to write about other genres, it was no longer just fantasy or mystery, but also began to write about love, and to reflect the feelings and sensations of my age that were reflected in writings full of eroticism and sensuality. Thus, between games and books, the years went by until I graduated from high school with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Mi época universitaria y el camino a la adultez. My college days and the road to adulthood.
Mis gustos por la lectura y la sensibilidad por los problemas sociales me llevaron a escoger como profesión el arte de enseñar a otros. Fue así como comienzo a estudiar para ser profesor en el área de Ciencias Sociales en la Universidad de Carabobo, lugar dónde desarrollé una inesperada afición por la tecnología; lo que me llevaría a cursar paralelamente a mis estudios de enseñanza, una carrera técnica en Informática en el Colegio Universitario de Administración y Mercadeo (CUAM) ubicado en la ciudad de Naguanagua.
My love for reading and my sensitivity for social problems led me to choose as a profession the art of teaching others. That is how I began to study to become a teacher in the area of Social Sciences at the University of Carabobo, where I developed an unexpected love for technology, which would lead me to study in parallel to my teaching studies, a technical career in Computer Science at the University College of Management and Marketing (CUAM) located in the city of Naguanagua.
El logro de las metas académicas. Achievement of academic goals.
El hecho de cursar al mismo tiempo una profesión del campo de humanidades y otra en el área tecnológica, contribuyó a desarrollar en mí una personalidad polifacética como adulto ya que tuve las dos visiones en mi formación académica, la científica y la social. Grandes amigos que aún conservo, excelentes docentes que guiaron mi camino y muchas experiencias vividas concluyeron en lograr dos grandes metas en mi vida, obteniendo los títulos académicos de Técnico Superior Universitario en Informática, y Licenciado en Educación en Ciencias Sociales.
The fact of studying at the same time a profession in the humanities field and another in the technological area, contributed to develop in me a multifaceted personality as an adult since I had both visions in my academic formation, the scientific and the social. Great friends that I still have, excellent teachers who guided my path and many experiences concluded in achieving two great goals in my life, obtaining the academic titles of University Technician in Computer Science, and Bachelor of Education in Social Sciences.
Finalmente, a fin de buscar complementar mis estudios, decido cursar estudios de postgrado y obtengo el grado de Magister en Tecnología Educativa; cumpliendo así mi tercer grado académico.
Finally, in order to complement my studies, I decided to pursue graduate studies and obtained the degree of Master in Educational Technology, thus fulfilling my third academic degree.
El arte de enseñar. The art of teaching.
Durante más de 10 años me he desempeñado como docente en diversos niveles, impartiendo clases de computación para niños en educación primaria; y a nivel universitario en el área de Ciencias Sociales. Muchas han sido las experiencias de vida y los conocimientos que mutuamente he intercambiado con los estudiantes que me ha tocado la dicha de formar. Soy de las personas que piensa que el proceso de aprendizaje debe ser recíproco, siempre debemos tener la humildad de reconocer que en la vida, cualquier persona siempre nos podrá enseñar algo nuevo que sea de provecho para nosotros, sin importar la edad ni cualquier otra condición que tenga.
For more than 10 years I have worked as a teacher at various levels, teaching computer classes for children in elementary education; and at the university level in the area of Social Sciences. Many have been the life experiences and knowledge that I have mutually exchanged with the students that I have been fortunate enough to train. I am one of those people who think that the learning process should be reciprocal, we must always have the humility to recognize that in life, anyone can always teach us something new that is of benefit to us, regardless of age or any other condition you have.
Mi familia como pilar de vida. My family as a pillar of life.
Soy el menor de tres hermanos, los cuales han sido junto con mis padres mis grandes apoyos y ejemplos a seguir. Igualmente tengo dos sobrinos maravillosos, así como una gran familia que lamentablemente ha tenido que verse separada, algunos porque ya han concluido su vida terrenal; y otros al tener que emigrar a otros países en búsqueda de mejores condiciones de vida dada la crisis económica, política y social que vive nuestro país. El deseo y la fe de todos es que la situación mejore y pronto nuestra gran familia vuelva a estar unida.
I am the youngest of three brothers, who together with my parents have been my greatest supporters and role models. I also have two wonderful nephews, as well as a large family that unfortunately has had to be separated, some because they have already concluded their earthly life; and others by having to emigrate to other countries in search of better living conditions given the economic, political and social crisis that our country is going through. The desire and faith of all is that the situation improves and soon our great family will be united again.

A lo largo de mi vida, estos seres de los cuales me ha tocado estar a cargo; los he considerado más que mascotas, como otros miembros más de la familia. De ellos también hablaré en mi blog.

Como ya les había comentado, soy una persona polifacética; así que no me voy a atar a una sola temática en específico; aunque como podrán haber notado, el eje central será la Literatura; desde escritos propios como ensayos, cuentos y poesía; hasta compartir con ustedes mis gustos literarios, siendo mis referentes autores como Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Rómulo Gallegos, Ernesto Sábato, Horacio Quiroga, Francisco Massiani, entre otros.
As I had already mentioned, I am a multifaceted person, so I will not be tied to a single specific topic, although as you may have noticed, the central axis will be Literature, from my own writings such as essays, short stories and poetry, to sharing with you my literary tastes, being my references authors such as Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Rómulo Gallegos, Ernesto Sábato, Horacio Quiroga, Francisco Massiani, among others.
Igualmente trataré temas como el deporte, especialmente el beisbol y el baloncesto; recetas de cocina, tecnología y algunas experiencias cotidianas que considere puedan ser de provecho para mis futuros lectores. No me queda más que agradecerles el haberme permitido llegar hasta ustedes.
