Fertilizing Cassava So that it bears a lot of fruit

in OCD3 years ago

Cassava is known as a plant that is easy to grow, stubborn and can live anytime and anywhere. So that all this time, the application of basic fertilizers to cassava plants is considered unimportant. In fact, the provision of basic fertilizers is important in providing nutrients to the newly planted young plants. Basic fertilizers are given during land cultivation or 10-15 before the seeds are planted. Details of dosage and method of applying basic fertilizer for cassava plants are as follows;

a). After plowing is complete dolomite lime is spread evenly on the land (dosage as needed)
b). Then followed by the sprinkling of manure as much as 15-20 tons per hectare (adjusted to the level of soil fertility)
c). 7-10 days later, the inorganic fertilizer is sprinkled, namely the entire dose of TSP and 1/3 of the dose of Urea (40-100 kg) and KCL (16.6-41.6 kg) or 1/3 of the dose of NPK Phonska and Urea.
d). Then the land is plowed again so that the fertilizer is evenly mixed with the soil. 10 - 15 days later the cassava seeds are ready to be planted.

It's time for me to explain about the most important process in cassava cultivation, namely plant maintenance. This maintenance process includes fertilizing, irrigation, clearing the land from weeds, pests and diseases. For additional fertilization, it is given when the plants are 2 months old, namely by giving 2 liters of MiG-6 Plus, then fertilizer is applied every 2 months with the same dose until the plants are 8 months old.

In addition to providing organic fertilizers, when the plants are 60-90 days old, they are also given chemical fertilizers. The fertilizer given is in the form of Urea: 85 kg and KCL: 85 kg. 5 days after planting, you should also apply NPK fertilizer in the form of a mixture of TSP / SP36: 75 kg and KCL: 50 kg on 1 hectare of land.

The dosage for one plant seed is given as much as 22.5 grams of fertilizer by means of a hole. Leave a distance between the fertilizer hole and the plant about 15 cm with a depth of 10 cm. During the fertilization process, also check whether there are dead seeds or not growing shoots, if any, immediately replace them with new seeds.

The next treatment is weeding and cleaning the weeds. In one planting period, weeding is usually done 2 times. During the weeding period, also loosen the soil around the plants so that the plants can grow optimally.

The next way to plant elephant cassava is by pruning unnecessary branches. This is done so that only quality branches are left so that when harvesting the branches can be used as seeds. Make an effort to make cassava plants so that they are moist but not flooded until the age of 5 months after planting.

When the dry season arrives, do the watering by remembering the water in between the beds. This is so that water seeps into the soil and is easily absorbed by plant roots. This watering method can be done every 2 weeks.

For pests and diseases, there is no need to worry, because this plant has good resistance to pests and diseases. So you don't need to use pesticides. Even if there are ants, you can use Decis at a dose of 2 ml per liter of water.
