Este programa busca crear comedores comunitarios que permitan una mayor ingesta de alimentos a aquellos niños que lo ameriten y permitir a su vez la reinserción escolar y su correcta educación.
Durante la actividad, contamos con el apoyo de la Doctora Angelica Belisario, médico nutricionista, quien realizó el abordaje en conjunto con el equipo para conocer las diferentes medidas y el peso de estos niños y comparar con las tablas nutricionales vigentes.
Es importante recalcar la necesidad en el estado Miranda de crear espacios propicios para atender a niños con malnutrición infantil, motivado a los altos índices de la misma ofrecidos por OCHA en febrero de 2022.

Last Thursday, July 4, we conducted a nutritional screening activity for more than 50 children in the community of La Chivera located in the municipality Cristobal Rojas of Miranda state. This, in order to verify their nutritional status and request resources from public and private entities to support them through the program "Meals for smiles".
This program seeks to create community kitchens that allow a greater intake of food to those children who deserve it and allow them to reintegrate into school and their correct education.
During the activity, we had the support of Dr. Angelica Belisario, medical nutritionist, who carried out the approach together with the team to know the different measures and the weight of these children and compare with the current nutritional tables.
It is important to emphasize the need in the state of Miranda to create favorable spaces to attend children with child malnutrition, motivated by the high indexes of the same offered by OCHA in February 2022.
