I'll be honest, I'm not being as productive from home as I would usually be from my office. There's far too many distractions!
The distractions
My cats - They love it that I'm home and are keen to remind me every chance they have. Mine tend to find the most inconvenient spot to park themselves and if that happens to be on my computer, paperwork I've got next to me on the desk or my lap...Well, it's not their fault, it's their right!
I've got good cats, I have to say, and I love them a lot; They don't pester us much, except for cuddles and aren't too vocal, most of the time. Still, it seems that they know when the least opportune time to be vocal is and that's when they choose to make as much noise as they can...When I am on the phone trying to work.
Lego - Let me be completely honest here, this is not my fault; Lego is to blame here. It just sits here in my home-office G-dog utility room and taunts me with its presence. What, I'm supposed to somehow find the fortitude to deny its attraction? Yeah right, as if.
This is especially true when I have the added pressure of my mate Grouchy trying to sway me from my work duties to play with Lego. I lost my patience with him yesterday...My last post explains it.
Faith, my much-loved, but distracting wife - Ok, so I'm trusting you not to repeat this within her earshot right? OK, good...I don't want to get into trouble for saying it but she's bloody distracting!
She works from home all the time and is really good at it. If it was a normal week it wouldn't be so bad but this was the week we were supposed to be in Tasmania on holiday and now that we're not she's home, not working and getting in my way.
Here's the thing...Right now she's walking around wearing a pair of short shorts and a fairly small pink bikini top, a lot like the black one she is wearing in the image above. Don't get me wrong, I'm appreciative of what I'm seeing right now...But it's not helping me work. It's distracting.
She's in and of the house, I think on bloody purpose, busying herself with all sorts of things. Earlier today she was watering the garden, and announced only an hour ago that she intends to wash her car...I'll have to wash it all over again because she's not very good at it, although to be honest I will probably go and supervise...You know...Come on...You know...Girl in bikini, soap suds and hose washing a car...You know...A distraction too good to pass up.
So, how am I supposed to work from home I ask you? It's infuriating.
With things looking like getting tighter as far as government lockdowns go it could be a while before I head back to the office on anything more than a cursory drop-in and working from home is my reality so I had better get used to it I suppose.
What are you guys doing to stay productive whilst working from home? Do you have the same irresistible distractions that I have? Cats, Lego and bikini-clad wife (or hubby, I guess if he's that way inclined? Lol)
Come on, stop pretending to work, because we all know you're not, and tell us what's up. What's your distractions, and your distraction-cures?
Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default - Tomorrow isn't promised.
Be well
Of course, this is tongue in cheek...I'm working [a little] and am really pleased I have distractions like this! Lol. Life's good...Or would be if this bastard virus would go away for good!
Glad you are not suffering too much in lockdown mate. :-)
Haha...Well, just trying to keep busy...
Lol.
Aha! That first photo says a lot. :D I don't blame you though, that's really a hard challenge to overcome the distraction. :p
I'm battling on through the distractions...And hope at some stage to get some work done...Any work done. Lol.
Working...Hard.
Eyes on the job mate🙄
😇
I have practiced over these years, not to be get distracted, though it took a while to come to this level 😀
Yes, I've thought about not getting distracted and with the cats and Lego I managed it...The other...Not so much.
That no one can 😁 work at home😀
I think it's a hidden message, and it may involve the bedroom. I can concur with the notion that working from home has many distractions. Furthermore, and don't tell Faith this... But I'm miffed that the first picture is focused... in a way that doesn't really show of certain features.

Haha...Yes I took that photo like that as it was the only way I could get her to approve of me putting it on the interwebs...She had to check it first to see if it was blurred enough. Lol.
Censorship! Oh well, maybe next time, eh?
Haha...Yeah...She's the boss.
Good luck with your attempts to get work done. :)
I've managed some work...Lol.
