Back then without decent scopes it would possibly have been easier as one would be a little detached from the end result...Through a scope it's amazing how much detail one sees. I went culling tonight and my longest shot was 680m...Still, I saw every detail of it, the animal drop etc. For most people killing anything isn't the easiest thing.

I often shoot long range as you may know, I compete around the country in practical competitions also...But to do all that in a battlefield situation...Yeah, a rare breed. They're as much shooters as surveillance and intel-gatherers now though. Back in Billy's day that just banged away on the long gun all day long...Rare breed of bloke for sure.
