I scrape by with my rent from UK property, trying my hardest to not work too hard, promised myself I would retire at 50, 53 now so something went wrong.
It's been a long haul but we are now mortgage free and living the simple life so things could be worse. That said we were reliant on koz's wage here from teaching diving and that's pretty much dried up with the exception of one or two courses.
In a attempt to stretch funds we are moving to a cheaper apartment at the end of the week. Slight backwards move but makes sense in the current climate.
Smart to make changes quickly if required. A single back-step is preferable to a fall down the ladder right? We are working towards the same; A simple life and the ability to live a little more free from the pressures of society. It's a daily focus. I hope the dive-work picks up.
It's going to be a long haul, the Philippine government are dragging their heels and until we see a return of tourism things will stay pretty slow.
The only saving grace at the moment is a few tourists rode out the lock down but there are only so many feet on the ground and that will dry up shortly.
Whatever this is all out of our control so we will have to wait it out and hope for better times to come.
