George. I will never be able to forget that name. I will always remember it in my heart and brain memory.
OK. Let me start the story from here. From a bus stop where I often hawked my merchandise.
One morning in early June.
Someone approached me. His steps sound heavy.
The person then squatted near me, asking how much tissue was on my lap. From his voice I knew he was a man.
"My name is George. I'm a final year student at a Faculty of Medicine in this city." He said cheerfully while paying the price of the tissue that I held out to him.
My heart suddenly pounded when accidentally the tip of the man's fingers touched the back of my hand.
I really could not see the figure of George who was in front of me. But I could feel, and was sure, George was a good-looking, good-looking man.
Since that meeting I became so glorified George. I hope to see him as often as possible. Catch every step of the weight and hear his voice rasping wet while shouting to greet me.
"If I graduate from college and be accepted to work at the hospital, the first patient I want to cure is you," he said, one day. Of course I was very touched and happy to hear that. Both of my pupils moved to hold the tears that were scrambling to fall.
"Is it true that my eyes can be cured?" I doubt my own feelings.
"Certain!" George exclaimed loudly.
"All right. If later my eyes heal, the first person I want to see is you," I lifted my face, blushing slightly.
I knew George was watching me and his lips smiled at my words.
"I'll say goodbye first! The bus has come to pick me up. See you soon!" George hurriedly touched the back of my hand again. Then leave.
The following days I began to realize. That I admire George so much. I was so amazed, I sometimes thought that George was actually an angel deliberately sent by God to meet me. Turning my dark days into beautiful and colorful.
One morning in the middle of June.
Cold air scrambled to bite my arms and back of my hand. But I do not care. My heart is blooming. I am waiting for the arrival of George.
Yes. George. He finally succeeded in completing his studies. He has also been accepted to work in a hospital. And in accordance with what he had promised, today he will take me to have his eyes examined both eyes have been impaired since childhood.
I was just about to tidy up my merchandise when someone stepped up.
George, is that it?
I immediately sharpened my hearing. Although in the end I felt very disappointed because the person who came was not him.
"Are you Anna, huh? George asked me to take you to the hospital. Right now."
"Why didn't George pick me up? Where was he?" My chest suddenly rumbled. The person who invited me to talk didn't answer. He just grabbed my arm then guided my steps to a car.
The stinging drug smell told me that I was in the hospital.
A sister --- I can recognize by her voice, leading me to a room. After helping me to change clothes, the nurse put me to bed.
"The team of doctors is preparing to operate on Miss's eyes," the nurse told him. I nodded slightly.
"Sorry, may I ask? Is George among the doctors who will open my eyes?" I ventured to open the voice.
"Of course. That good man will always be with you."
A few hours later.
I once promised, if my eyes could be cured, the first person I wanted to see was George. So, when the bandages on my eyes were ready to be opened, I reiterated them.
"I want George to do it --- take off this bandage, not another doctor."
There is no reply. Once again I repeated my words. Kali with a rather loud voice.
"I want the first person I see is George!"
A hand slowly touched my shoulder. Then there was a soft whisper in my ear.
"I'm Doctor Andreas, son. George's best friend. He has chosen me to represent him to remove the bandages from your beautiful eyes."
And, I did not have time to refuse again. Next thing I knew was the bandages in my eyes had broken down.
I still haven't stopped loving George. The owner of heavy steps that I have never seen his face and handsome figure. A good man who gave up a pair of corneas for his eyes to donate to me.
George. He let out his last breath after several hours of being hit and run while crossing the road to pick me up. A year ago In the middle of June.
