Everyone wants to be happy. But it seems to be this confusing thing that no one knows how to get. What they don't realize is no matter what situation you're in, you can be happy. So many people blame external circumstances for their lack of happiness. They think if they get more money, or they get the job that they want. Or the relationship that they want. Then they'll be finally happy. This isn't a fucking fairy tale. You have to choose to be happy every day and constantly practice being grateful for what you have.
Keep it simple
When you don't want very much, it's easier to be happy and get what you want. When you want a fancy boat and a mansion, along with all of those fancy toys and equipment. You're going to have to work a lot harder to get those things, and the chances of you getting those things are a lot lower. But if you just want food to eat and a roof over your head, and you know, maybe the occasional vacation. You may not have to work as hard, and heck, you may be able to store a lot of money away. Or perform a job you love that might pay a little less than working a job you hate that pays more. Wanting less makes it easier to be happy

Control your anger and emotions
Again, with blaming external circumstances, people blame their anger or feelings and sadness on external events. Your boss can't force you to be angry. Sure, they can do things that might upset you. But it's up to you whether you're pissed off about it—the rest of the day, or if you brush it off and keep going. Of course, we're not going to like everything that happens to us. And that's OK. But if you want to be happy, you got to learn to control your emotions.

Hold no opinion

People are always getting in heated political debates, whether on Facebook or at work. They go back and forth, and they could argue for hours. No one's going to change their mind. No policies will change based on the arguments you had with your coworker or something. Instead, relationships are damaged. When you have no opinion on something, there is no fighting. And it's easier to be happy because some stupid thing you just heard on the news won't upset you as much.
