Hornbill, also known as Hornbill in a number of eastern Indonesia, is one of the protected species. Given its unique beak shape, Hornbills is one of the riches of animals possessed by Indonesia.
Rangkong atau dikenal dengan nama Enggang di sejumlah wilayah bagian timur Indonesia adalah salah satu jenis satwa yang dilindungi. Mengingat bentuk paruhnya yang unik menjadikan Rangkong salah satu kekayaan satwa yang dimiliki oleh Indonesia.
In fact, in Kalimantan Hornbills are believed to be one of the sacred animals, it is said that Rangkon is the guardian of the Kalimanatan forest. So do not be surprised if a number of Dayak tribe people make hornbill feathers as one of the accessories on their traditional clothes and dances.
Bahkan di Kalimantan Rangkong dipercaya sebagai salah satu satwa yang sakral, konon katanya Rangkon merupakan penjaga kelestarian hutan Kalimanatan. Maka tidak heran jika sejumlah masyarakat suku dayak menjadikan bulu burung Rangkong sebagai salah satu asesoris pada pakaian adat dan tarian mereka.

Karena bentuk paruhnya yang unik, burung Rangkong ini menjadi salah satu buruan para kolektor yang memiliki bisnis di pasar gelap. Tak jarang paruh-paruh burung Rangkong ini menjadi buruan mereka yang tersebar disejumlah wilayah Indonesia.
In the province of Aceh, Gayo Lues is one of the districts that has quite large forests and is home to this hornbill habitat. Saya berkesempatan menyaksikan burung yang memiliki suara unik serta kepakan sayap yang berbunyi cukup keras tersebut.
