RE: Beleaguered and Confused

in OCD4 years ago

I think we will be in these woods for a while yet unfortunately and yes, seems the second spikes are beginning to happen in places that thought they had "gotten away from it".

UK has had local lockdowns such as Leicester and now a few more cities are seeing local lockdowns occur due to increases in number of cases/infections. We are at least testing a LOT more and covid testing kits are being made more available so there's a smidgen more trust in the numbers here although we are seeing a tiny rise in the number of cases again over the last few days.

It's sad to see the numbers in South Africa start the exponential growth phase given all the lockdowns you already went through when there were very few cases in the first instance. My thoughts and well wishes go out to everyone as behind each number is a person with a family and friends - it's not a pissing contest, these are real lives and the fact there are still people debunking it and arranging "covid parties" makes you wonder...

Another excellent blog from you and well researched.

You are so right. And that's why I get annoyed when people pissball about with raw numbers that SA is 5th in the world. Really? That is not the issue: it's what that means in terms of our population and irt how many people are sick, very sick, getting better and/or dead. Anyway, I'm preaching to the choir with you... 😁

Thank you for your good wishes, Nick. It seems that numbers in our province are begining to plateau - as of today's announcement. We are, however, but an enclave. And it's long from over...

Appreciate your taking the time to read my rants and make "proper comments".

I'll keep my fingers crossed it gets better for all of us but directing a bit more in the worse affected places at the moment.

Take care of yourselves down there
