You understand what love means when you've been faced with hate
How do you explain an adult being afraid of the light? - the truth
Most people can't face their inner demons and wouldn't care
They would rather find an excuse for their ways rather than rise up
No one is perfect enough to have things all figured out
We are all a work in progress - to be moulded as a potter with a clay
Every negativity we are expected to keep at bay
But most people, when the sun shines they won't make the hay
With a loud cry like that of a donkey that bray
They shout just to cover up their inadequacies but not for long
There is no perfect excuse for what is wrong
Even when you sing it with a beautiful voice with the Gong
A lot of people know who they are but they don't want to be told
They want to be seen shining only with the colour of gold
But what's a bar of gold without the process of refining?
The longer you delay your growth the harder it becomes
You know as much as everyone that you need to turn the new page
Stop masking everything under another's or your own rage
Only realization, admittance and willingness can get you out of your own cage
We always have a choice and you know you can do better
