Fuerteventura wins the prize for the oldest Canary Island, at the ripe old age of around 20 million years. It originated from a volcanic eruption. The beaches of Corralejo are amongst the top 25 in Europe. The native inhabitants of Fuerteventura are still called majoreros and are known as very kind and pleasant people.
The small town of Igueste de San Andres is located in the district of Anaga. It is a charming town, which despite its small population and being a very small town, has many attractions that make it a special place within the island of Tenerife.
René Egli Fuerteventura offers since 1984 excellent windsurfing and kiteboarding holidays and is considered the biggest center worldwide.
Timanfaya National Park is a Spanish national park in the southwestern part of the island of Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands. It covers parts of the municipalities Tinajo and Yaiza.
San Sebastián de La Gomera is the capital of La Gomera, one of Spain’s Canary Islands. The Church of the Assumption has a mural depicting an 18th-century battle, and a museum with religious artwork dating from the 16th century. Nearby, La Gomera Archaeological Museum traces the island’s indigenous cultures through artifacts and scale models. South is the Torre del Conde, a medieval fortification set in a lush park.
Puerto de la Cruz is a city on the north coast of Tenerife, the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands. It’s known for its dark, volcanic-sand beaches and the huge Loro Parque zoo, which lies to the west. On the seafront, Lago Martiánez is a saltwater pool complex designed by architect César Manrique. The old harbor is home to a 17th-century customs house and Batería de Santa Bárbara, a crumbling 18th-century fort.
Puerto de Mogán is a picturesque resort and fishing village in the municipality of Mogán, set at the mouth of a steep-sided valley on the south-west coast of the island of Gran Canaria. It attracts many tourists either to stay or on day-visits.
