Have you ever been stuck with a flat tire on the side of the road? Do you want to be able to change a tire without having to ask for help? Fortunately, changing a tire is quite a simple task provided you're willing to exert a little effort and pressure towards it.

Knowing how to change a tire is a necessary skill especially for all drivers. If you rely on a cell phone to save you in a roadside emergency, there’s always that chance you might run out of battery, be out of range, or leave it at home.
Thankfully, changing a tire isn’t all that hard! Just adhere to the following guidelines to be prepared in case you have a flat.

ITEMS NEEDED TO FIX A FLAT TIRE

These items should have come with your vehicle:

  • Jack
  • Wrench
  • Spare tire

STEPS TO BE TAKEN

To remove the tire, the following steps should be taken

  • Place a heavy object like a rock, concrete in front of the front and back tires.

  • Place the jack under the vehicle beside or behind the tire you are about to change and Ensure that the jack is in contact with a solid surface.

  • Loosen the nuts by turning anti-clockwise. Don't loosen them all the way off, you only need to break the resistance. By keeping the wheel on the ground when you first loosen the nuts, you'll make sure that you're turning the nuts instead of the wheel.

  • Pump or crank the jack to lift the tire off the ground. You need to lift it high enough so as to remove the flat tire and replace it with a spare.

  • Unscrew and remove the nuts completely

  • Remove the tire.

To Add the spare Tire, the following steps should be taken

  • Place the spare tire on the hub.
  • Use your hand to tighten the nuts until they are all tight.
  • Lower the vehicle and tighten the nuts with the wrench.
  • Release the jack and lower the vehicle to the ground completely.

Thanks for taking out your time. Hope this reaches someone in need.
Have a lovely day!

So many people, certainly here where I live, would have no clue as to how to change a flat tyre. They would do well to read this as it may help them learn. Thanks for your time and I hope you have a nice weekend.

Hi @allover. Great advice, as I'm one of those people who wouldn't have a clue as to how to go about changing a flat tire. Thankfully for me I don't have to as my spouse takes care of that. I just drive.

Yes, you do what most do. I know men who couldn't change a flat tyre and probably have no clue where they jack is located within their car! Lol. It's just the way it is these days; There's always someone to help I suppose, until there is not.
