I haven't cried in years, is something wrong with me or I'm not a very emotional person

Just because you're not expressing feelings too "loudly" doesn't mean you're not feeling. Everyone feels. However, you may not feel comfortable with your feelings and are therefore suppressing yourself. You may be making your reactions to your environment and things happening to you more intellectual.

You can begin to get more in touch with your feelings by writing down your thoughts and what you think your feelings are in a daily journal. Write as fast as you can, and don't stop to think or improve, don't even worry about spelling or grammar. Do this every day at intervals of ten minutes, then after a few days start reading what you wrote. Within time you will start noticing things that you repeat, and those are signs of what you are feeling.

Emotions are our body's physical response to our thinking and environment. That's why tears, tension, burning in the stomach, etc. A good way to get more in touch with your body is to take a dance class, especially in modern dance or an ethnic style. When you walk, you will be in touch with how you are feeling with your body as well as how the music is making you feel – which you are automatically expressing through your movements.

Another way to get more in touch with your emotions is to sit down and do a type of meditation where you place your hands on your knees, close your eyes, take a deep breath and release and just about your breath. Try to think. When many people first start doing this a lot of suppressed feelings come to the surface. It's very distracting for them because they want a calm mind, but in a way it's really great because it's giving repressed feelings a chance to surface so they can be dealt with.

Another way to get in touch with your emotions is to enjoy some type of art, such as music, watching people dance, art, poetry, books, etc. Pay attention to your reactions. Those are feelings. You might even find something you are passionate about, and that too is a feeling.
