Back to Hive after a long time!

Time moves slowly, but passes quickly..

To think that just 4 years ago, I was in 9th grade, enjoying life at its fullest and blogging my daily experiences on Hive. I had not a single worry in life, and spent most of my time either gaming, or making content for my blog on Hive. But life had different plans for me. In India, the only grades that matter are the final exams for your 10th and 12th grade. And so, I gave up all my hobbies, be it singing, cooking, gaming and even blogging, in hopes of performing well in my finals. And after 3 years of tireless efforts, I scored 97% in my 10th grade, followed by 92% in my 12th grade. After all these years, I am finally free from my academic stress I had and this time, I hope to achieve a work-life balance. As such, I am slowly but surely rediscovering my hobbies, and coming back to Hive is the first step of this journey!

A day out with Mom

Recently, my Father and my Grandmother had gone out on a ritual trip to Ujjain. More to come on that from @sanjeevm. Coincidentally, my Sister also had to attend a camp hosted by her school, and so off she went leaving me and my mother in the house by ourselves. I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity for a outing invloving only the two of us! I booked two movies back to back, with a small break in between for lunch and me and my mother headed out early in the morning to spend some quality time at a nearby mall.

We had the first movie at 10 am, and we reached just in time to grab our 3-D glasses and take our seats in the movie hall before the movie started.

The first movie that I had booked was Tron: Ares. The movie is based on a timeline in the future, where AI beings come into existence. It deeply resonated with the idea that AI beings too had feelings, and as we progressed into the movie, the main character, Ares, developed feelings similar to human beings. He did not want to be controlled by human beings, and went rouge at a certain point. But as every other protagonist, he had a change of heart and turned good. He did the tedious job of ending his rouge AI counterparts and in this process he saved humanity. The movie was one hell of a roller-coaster, and my mom said that it had been a long time since she had loved an English movie this much.

The movie ended at around 12:10 PM, and even though we were hungry, it was not lunch time yet. We decided to have some ice-cream at Baskin Robbins, which is our go to place for ice-cream. Both me and my mother had the Lotus Biscoff flavor, which is my personal favorite as it contains a twist of butterscotch and the Biscoff biscuit.

We roamed around the mall for a bit, tried some new outfits for Diwali, but were unable to find anything good. Soon afterwards it was time for lunch. I had some KFC to meet my protein intake, even though it had a lot of calories and carbs. My mother had a paneer burger meal from burger king, which was so tasty that she had already finished eating it before I could take any pictures 😅.

It was then time for our second movie! Jolly LLB 3, a hindi movie with uproarious courtroom comedy and a lot of twists and drama. The movie continued it's prequel's history of clashing between two people with the same name, Jolly. But in the second half, it shows that humanity is still alive when the two Jolly's team up to fight a case for a farmer's wife, whose homeland was illegally acquired by a big company. The movie was packed with laugh-out-loud chaos, and it was definitely the ultimate legal showdown. We also bought a tub of caramel popcorn and some soda, so that both our tummy and minds were satisfied to its fullest.

And with that, we ended the day on a good note. My mom said that the day was unforgettable for her, as she had never watched two movies in the same day before in her life. And for the cherry on top, she loved the two movies, as in today's date, its hard to find good movies which make you both laugh and also have a core value or lesson embedded in them.

This marks the end of my second introductory post, and I hope that I will be getting the continued support of the people on Hive, as I have gotten in the past. Here's to many more to days on this amazing platform!

Welcome back to Hive! What a fantastic day with your mom. It's not a surprise that she found it unforgettable. The best days as a parent are those spending time with your children.

Welcome back to Hive, your Dad has been updating us with your progress on school and life etc.
A mother and son date is cool and I know something she will remember so fondly when you leave the nest so to speak! Even better that she like the films!
