What if? Philippines after lockdown or ECQ lifting.

in Project HOPE4 years ago (edited)

There are so many "what if's" rounded up in the corner at this time when the government is about to end the two months long enhance community quarantine or lockdown. Yap that's two months sacrifice with full of worries, frustrations and hunger. People all over the country have put under house arrest, others lost there lives.fighting the virus and me included have lost job.

At the time of writing we still have new cases of CoVid19 which means the curve is not flattened yet. However, for the sake of saving the economy our government have discussed there plan of the lifting of enhance community quarantine to a general community quarantine.

So, what is the difference between enhance community quarantine to general community quarantine? According to the guidelines rotating in the news today, the general community quarantine defined as people are allowed to go outside and most business establishment are allowed to operate normally. While the enhance community quarantine is another term of total lockdown where people are forbid to go outside and go for work.

Knowing the fact that the asymptomatic person have no sign of being infected, even by themselves. So, as an average person it's really hard for us to tell who they are. What if the person next to you on the bus or your work mate next to your table or one member of your family or you who is carrying the deadly covid-19 virus. No one can tell and it's risky. What if the only choice you have now is your life or your money.

This is the reason why some people rejoices while others have saddened. Those people who feel happy thinks they can now going back to there normal life. While those who saddened upon hearing the news are those who still wish to live longer. And the fact, we all know that life is risky, getting marriage is risky, investing is risky but Covid-19 is far different from those risk we know.

What if you get infected with the virus and your chance of surviving is 50-50, in my opinion still it is a good figure. However, the problem is not when you get illness, but it's all started when you survive. How much would be the hospital bill you need to pay, on average minimum is 700k up to 8 million pesos.

What if your belong to the poor class and lower income earner middle class or even the middle class. Perhaps, you didn't survive that 50-50 chance unless you have a really good fighting spirit and your body healed by itself quick. Since we know the fact that at the moment of writing no available vaccine or cure to this virus. And to survive you need to get a good medical assistant in ICU perhaps using respirator or the like. So, if can't afford those then you will left to die, a reason why we have death cases on report.

What if your belong to upper earner middle classes and rich. Your money will come to rescue you and your chance of surviving now is higher since your money bought the other 30 percent make you a total chance of 90 percent survival to Covid-19. Yet there is still 20 percent of not getting well but that very little compare to the first group we have discussed earlier this post. Now can you told me money can't buy you life and time, it is now with Covid-19. So don't believe to those people preaching money is a root of all evil. It is the lack of money is the root of all evil, CoVid19 have proven it once again. No money you die.

Where will you belong, in what class, poor class, lower income middle class, middle class, upper earner middle class or the richest? Me I am now belong to poor class an ex-lower income earner middle class. So due the the lifting of enhance community quarantine and I get the virus somewhere else, my chances of surviving is 50-50. It's about how well my body to fight the virus or how my fighting spirit works. It's all depends on the miracle and faith in God above.

With all those what if's, are you still looking to rejoice with the lifting or go somewhere far away waiting for the vaccine or cure before going back to whatever we do before it. My plan is to back to the province and live off-grid as what we do when I am still a little child. Since I was born and raised in farmland away from town and cities, I experience a total off-grid living.

No incandescent lamps, no electricity, no TV's, no mobile devices, no aircon, no electric fan no coffee maker, no electric stove. I told you, it's a total isolation with nature. At night we depends on moonshine to light our way but in total darkness, we used kerosene lamp to provide us some dim light. Yes, it's total darkness but the skyline is so beautiful filled with twinkle stars comes with different size.

You can't tell what time it is if you knew, no watch. It's the sun during the day tell's you time and big deeper constellation during the night. But when rain, you can figure out time with the rooster crowing. Since it will make tiktilaok sound once or twice at noon time, at dusk six p.m., at night 10 o'clok, at dawn 4 a.m. and in the morning at 6 a.m. Isn't it so exciting living off-grid.

One more thing, since living off-grid is a total isolation with nature, you can depend all your needs with mother Earth. The food, the medicine and the entertainment. For food you need to grow plant and learn to preserve it until the next harvest season. Your protein source is depending to what animals you raise, what fish you have in your fishpond or river near you and to all other edible creepy crawlers found in the farm land. The medicine is also available in forage or grown in your backyard. Normally a kutchay for wounds, beetle vine, guava, chili, tawa-tawa and more. While your only means of entertainment is watching colorful birds jumping and singing from branch to branch. Or fishing using line in the nearest river or in fishpond. Or riding the horse to visit your growing plants.

Yeah, it's truly exciting living in off-grid with that minimal resources. But what if you have better equipment, an off road truck ready to go anytime, a tractor to cultivate lands, a bulldozer to dug a much better fishpond and a mobile devices and internet connection to post here on hive. Money won't be a problem anymore as other main dilemma living off-grid.

So with ECQ lifting to GCQ, what's your plan? I am living this question for a little interaction and please use the comment section down below for your answer.

Thank you for you time reading and I hope you enjoy it. Until next time.
