According to the World Health Organization, depression can lead to suicide. Close to 800 000 people die due to suicide every year. Suicide is the second leading cause of death in 15-29-year-olds.
To some people, depression is not a problem at all, they believe it's just normal to be depressed and it is a normal feeling. But I will say I was once in that shoe, a few years back, I was depressed and nothing was worth living for. I had series of mood swings and I know I wasn't fine. A big thanks to @samminator for his post on "Psychology of loneliness" I read his post and messages he passed and I felt I need to share this, so that alot of people can learn from my personal experience.
I migrated to a neighboring state some years back when I got a Federal Government job, I was very happy and full of life, I was eager to leave home, I left to Ondo town from ile Ife where I stayed alone in a self contained apartment (A room, Siting room, kitchen and and toilet) for like a year, I lived alone because I wasn't married but I discovered when I leave work and start preparing to go home, I feel sick and feel too empty, sometimes I feel like staying back at work. I felt what exactly I would be doing at home. Staying alone, sleeping alone, talking to myself was very disturbing and I knew I had a problem to deal with.
Sometimes I feel sad, empty and hopeless. This was not as a result of poverty or unemployment, I have a fairly good job with a good pay, still I felt sad and I questioned myself on what exactly I was doing with my life.
I moved from that self contained apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment because I believe I would be getting married soon and needed a large space to stay. I stayed in that house for 2 years now. I felt lonely and it was a bad experience , I stayed alone in the apartment for the 2 years and sometimes I talk to myself and feel as if I was going to die.
Sometimes I don't concentrate at work and I have great difficulty in completing task and even delay in responding during conversation. I was once told to stay home for 2 weeks to put myself together.
Ideal with this alone and it was killing me gradually, I don't do drugs, so I said to myself one day where this was coming from, I don't drink alcohol at all, so this got me confused. There are some pastors in church and imam who head mosques and still commit suicide because depression doesn't recognize anyone. Anyone can be depressed if care is not taking.
One of the signs I had then was inability to sleep most of the time, and also, I had to wake up severally at night and I won't be able to sleep till the next day.
I won't wish anyone to have this, even my enemy, it a very sad experience. I had to make a deep research into my family if there are any traces or cases of such condition in our family but non had been recorde and it was not a family problem and I contacted my mum if I had any trauma when I was little that might have caused my condition, she told me nothing of such happened, that I will be fine soon.
MY JOURNEY OUT OF DEPRESSION
I decided to look for help from a doctor in a Government hospital. I was told I need to use some drugs which I won't give name. I was given the drugs and I used for sometime and I was advised to stay in an apartment where I would be able to meet people and interact. He told me it's not advisable for me to stay alone because it was dangerous. He advised, that I should engage in different form of exercise. I also took some supplements which are very expensive but worked.
WORD OF ADVICE
I will advise that people should move swiftly to a professional who knows exactly which tools to use for the treatment and not some quack. Also, anyone who have a family, friends or relative who is depressed or suffering from any other phycological disorder should support and assist them out of this condition.
There are so many who put on suit and tie, go to work and people believe they are fine but they are battling with depression. Depression doesn't know class or race, rich or poor.

Hello @matthiasolusegun
This is a complex story but unfortunately it is very common, having money does not exactly give you happiness, in fact, the highest suicide rates worldwide are in countries with a higher level of development, and it happens more in families of wealthy class economically. It seems that this condition of having "almost everything" is not easy for many people to bear.
Depression can have a hereditary factor, perhaps your grandparents may have suffered from it and you don't know it, it is registered in your genes and for various reasons it was activated, so to speak.
It is often related to some neuroendocrine disorders, so it is necessary to use some drugs to balance these disorders, and help. It takes a little more than two weeks to take effect, but they can help a lot, but that is not the only thing, therapies with trained professionals in this area is necessary, just as you say no quacks to offer you quick solutions, in these cases are processes.
It is good to know that you are better, the fact that you can talk about it implies that you have been able to evaluate your past and solve many things. Yes, my friend @samminator brings very interesting and helpful material all the time.
Thanks for the mention buddy, I'm honoured. I've also learnt something new from your comment
It's good to know you've learned something new. As I understand it, you're a psychologist, I'm a doctor, they're complementary professions.
Actually buddy, I'm a Communication Technologist. I just developed a kind of love for psychology after reading up some psychology publications. Now I think I'm tilting a bit towards psychology.
ha ha ha ha
Let's go for something similar, I'm from health sciences, I studied nursing and medicine, and I have a penchant for technology, blockchain, and other things. But, life stuff. It's never too late.
Hahaha. I guess that's the nature of life.
Sure, it's never too late.
It's great to make you acquaintance, buddy. Cheers
