I think you had that push because you needed to know, maybe to help the lady, but wish ever way, your conclusion is right because we would not want to put ourselves in harm's way because of someone especially someone who has refused to see the right even when they are pointed towards it or even carried to the place.
One truth we have to accept is that we are not just responsible for ourselves in this world, we have a responsibility to look out for others, but unfortunately, the world has turned, so many are looking out for themselves rather than others.
