Everyone loves to brag about the buy. They post the screenshots and the rocket emojis and talk about how much they stacked this week. But you know what nobody talks about. The exit.
It is like a taboo subject in this space almost like if you sell you are betraying the cause or someting. But lets get real here for a second. The whole point of putting capital at risk is to eventually take it back out with some friends attached. Unless you plan on being the richest guy in the graveyard which sounds pretty useless to me.
So here is a hypothetical look at how to actually liquidate without losing your mind or getting absolutely rekt by fees.
First off get the idea of catching the top out of your head right now. You wont do it. I wont do it. We are not that lucky and the algos are faster than us anyway. The goal isnt to sell the absolute peak it is to sell into strength while everyone else is foaming at the mouth buying.
I am a big fan of just walking it out slowly. Same way you hopefully bought in. You sell a chunk when you hit a target and you move that capital immediately into something else.
Move it to the bank or better yet buy something tangible. A new server, a piece of land if you really made it. Lock that value into the physical world where it is harder to fumble.
You also gotta make peace with the fact that the price might keep going up after you sell. That is gonna hurt. You are gonna feel like an idiot. But realized gains are the only gains that matter. Paper wealth can vanish while you are sleeping but a paid off asset is yours.
Just have a number in your head and stick to it eh. Dont let the greed shift the goalposts because that is exactly when the market decides to turn around and humble you.
