Sleep is just as important as food and water

Some people complain of feeling sick often, and when you ask them about their sleep routine, some will tell you they do not sleep well at midnight cos they are busy with movies or work, some only sleep for 3 to 4 hours with excuses why they cannot afford up to 8 hours of sleep time.

Sleep is just as important as food and water; it is not just resting, it is one of the best ways to heal... When we sleep, our heart relaxes, our brain cools down, worn-out tissues are repaired, and, importantly, our energy is restored.

I have watched it on TV and heard it in the news about how people collapsed and died from the tragic news. There was a man who received a call that his good containers sank in the sea, and even before the call could end, he collapsed, and that was the end of his life. The news killed him because he could not control the state of his body at that time, and he could have been suffering from High blood pressure before that news. I didn't know how it felt until it happened to me.

Years ago, I received some bad news, and my heart started beating fast, and it felt like I could collapse or my heart could explode. What I did was drop my phone, close my eyes while sitting in the chair, and sleep for about 30 minutes to stabilize myself. By the time I woke up, my body was okay. I wonder what could have happened to me if I hadn't slept. Maybe my heart could have failed me, and I won't be here sharing my experience so I can say sleep saved my life on that day.

It is not all the case that we notice some symptoms that we will start consuming drugs and self-medicating. If you have headache, it could be a result of not sleeping well. If you are depressed, sleep! anxious? Sleep! heartbroken? Sleep! The only time I won't advise you to sleep is when you are broke, cos no one sleeps when hungry, or when bills pile up to be paid,, but still make sure to observe at least six hours of sleep in 24 hours. it will save you from hospital or health bills.

The therapy that sleep gives is beyond most medications that we have out there. Sadly, even though we know this, we still deny ourselves quality sleep.

I know the power of sleep. Sometimes when something is wrong with me, I sleep and by the time I wake up, I feel better than how I had been before. Many lives have been lost because of lack of sleep, thinking it’s something else.

i can relate to what you said too, it still happen yesterday too, I was exhausted, by the time I woke up after sleeping, all energy has been restored and I feel better.

Without proper sleep, it's indeed hard to say someone is healthy. Not sleeping properly can create long-term effects and so we should not take it lightly. From yesterday, I started to go to sleep timely as I felt it was also necessary for me.

it is recorded that most people cant function properly if they dont sleep for 2 days.
