I'd like to use this opportunity to welcome us to the month of November, the penultimate month of the year. It is evident that the end of the year is fast approaching and in some days we'd be ushering in the year 2022. This year have been full of great memories and also some down moments, but above all, we are grateful for how far we've come.
We have crossed path with so many people in this year, and we've cut ties with others. We have met some people in malls, event centers, seminars, churches and mosques in the last months, who were strangers to us at that time, but now we're best of friends, colleagues and even romantic partners. This is a true nature of humans, we get to meet new people and make friends on a regular basis.
However, so many people have given up on friendship, not because they do not feel like being in the company of friends anymore but because fake friends are more than the genuine ones. A lot of people have gone through hell from people who they call friends. It is very difficult to be certain that someone is your friend in our world today and this is due to the fact that people tend to be your friends for only the benefits that they stand to gain and if these benefits have been got, they'd get rid of you.

I saw a movie some days back and it apes the reality of our world today. The major characters in the movie are two people who are in a romantic relationship with each other. The lady is a type that demands money from the man at every given opportunity but the man tried to manage the situation by developing a strategy of not meeting her demands always. He decided to always tell her that he didn't budget for that particular need for that week, or month. The lady became very furious that with all the man's wealth, she doesn't always get what she wants. She connived with an old friend that she met recently to take the man out by planting hard drugs in his possession. The man was arrested and jailed and eventually died in jail. The lady and her new man friend were enjoying the man's wealth in a lavish style. To cut the long story short, they were caught and also jailed for their actions.
There are many men and women that have lost their lives, properties and investments in similar manner to their friends, and partners due to greed, envy, and jealousy.
This doesn't mean that there are no good friends out there who would be around you when things are good and support you during difficult times. True friends are always present in any type of weather, when it is good and bad.
But, how do we differentiate the good from the bad?
It's quite easy to know who is a good friend to you and who isn't. Well, pretence may make it quite difficult to discover. Humans are very good at pretending but the true color comes out when their is a slight change of fortune. If they don't get to enjoy the benefits of their friendship with you, they will call it a quit.

It's rare to find good friends but ensure you do not let them go when you find one. There are friends whose presence in our lives always put us on our feet to do more. They challenge us always think outside the box and make great moves and not the retrogressive friends who are only concerned about fun and frivolities.
The decision is yours to make on who you want as your friends - you choose your friends yourself and it should be in line with the kind of promising life that you want for yourself.
