Pasta Night through Selma's Lens

Yesterday, I shared a few rather sad photos of our pasta night. One of the things about passionate photographers as friends is that they - well, she - can't resist snapping away. Even with her cell phone. And even with her cell, she takes fabulous photos. So, here through Selma's - of my signature photo - lens, are some of her photos of that evening.

The table, antipasti loaded, and waiting.

There were two antipasti dishes. This, with prosciutto wrapped around fig and blue cheese on a bed of lettuce and cucumber.

Aubergine (brinjal / eggplant) drizzled with a chilli (jam) lime and yoghurt dressing. André having confessed to not being a fan of eggplant, had a second helping...

The pepper pasta with a pile of fresh coriander. Pasta is hard to photograph: the capsicums and their juice were buried among the hand cut linguine.

Finally, the dessert which Selma described as amazing and like eating "squashed apricots": a perfect description of my homemade apricot sorbet.

If Selma's mesage below, and response to another friend's Facebook comment, of "talented chef" is anything to go by, they had a good evening.

They are almost done with their work in the village and because a few things have overrun and they have to stay night another night, they will occupy the Little Room @ The Sandbag House.

Selma's happy to be staying: she can't wait for the market and has already placed her order for sourdough rolls, paté and hummus. The chilli jam, without which they tell me they can't survive, was delivered and opened when we joined them for Tuesday's braai.

Until next time, be well
