Good day to all hivers and splinterlanders across the world, how are you doing in your various endeavors? I was talking to some friends in splinterlands channel today: one of them said, to start earning in splinterlands, someone needs up to $1000 investment to buy packs.
Well! Maybe he was right or not; what I know is that you need to invest before you can start earning.
I claimed my daily reward a few hours ago, I got 56 merits, SPS and some common cards. There is something I believe: I believe that this bear time is also affecting the rewards. During the bull period, I received more rewards which made me believe that the bear period affects the reward system of splinterlands. How do you see it? Use the comment box to reply.
GEM METEOR
I was searching for a gem meteor today, but I did not find it. I thought Gem Meteor was one of the monsters from Gem packs because of the name.
When I saw ‘Gem Meteor, in the weekly challenge post, my conclusion was that ‘the monster is from the gem pack. Without reading through the post, I went straight to my monster’s collection searching for Gem Meteor, but I did not find it. This made me think that Gem meteor was from Gem packs.
Until I went back to the post, that was when I realized that Gem Meteor is a Chaos legion pack. I have never used Gem meteor in battle, the first time I used Gem meteor was today. I really needed this monster to write a splinterlands post and that was what motivated me to this monster.
WHERE DO GEM METEOR FIT?
I was confused about the position to use this monster, and I used it in the wrong position that led to my defeat in this first battle. Sometimes, it is like that for me if I want to use new monsters. I used it in last position because of its range ability: if I had used gem meteor as the second monster in that particular battle, I would have won. My opponent used the ruler of the sea of which the blast ability affected my second monster. This second monster was among the two best monsters that could have given me victory.
During the second attempt, that was when I got the perfect position to use gem meteor and I won the battle.
WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT THE GEM METEOR?
I like the scattershot ability; it gives this monster power to attack any monster in the battle. Watching this battle closely, you would realize that the gem meteor attacked two different monsters before it was damaged and eliminated by a noxious fume. This scattershot ability is fantastic and awesome to me.
The speed of this monster is much more fantastic than what I expected, at level 1 it has 4 speeds. Its speed made me search for a market and get 2 to level up to level 2.
RULESET
- NOXIOUS FUME: All the monsters start the battle poisoned.
- HEAVY HITTERS: All monsters have the knockout out ability.
MONSTERS ARRANGEMENT
THE KRAKEN: The moment I saw a noxious fume rule, something that came to my mind was to use monsters with high numbers of health; This is one of the best methods to win this battle. I searched for monsters available for me to use, and I saw Kraken which was my best monster to use in the first position.
Another thing that made me use the kraken was the high number of mana available for me, I was given 44 mana in this battle and that was the reason I used the kraken because the mana can accommodate it.
DJINN OSHANNUS: The speed and the magic attack was very important to me in this battle. With eleven health, I knew it would take round 4 to be completely eliminated from this battle. Oshannus was incredible, attacking the first monster in my opponent’s lineup and was not eliminated despite the poisonous rule in the battle.
MERDAALI GUARDIAN: I was aware this merdaali guardian would not stay beyond round 2 because of its health. I needed this monster to increase the health of the kraken; that was another way to make sure the kraken was not eliminated.
The kraken would have been eliminated in round 2 because the majority of my opponent’s monsters were magic monsters.
It was Merdalli Guardian that was restoring health to Kraken.
WATER ELEMENTAL: I was confident water elemental would last longer in this battle because of its healing ability. If there were a monster that would last longer than the rest of the monsters in my lineup, it would be water elemental.
As the noxious rule was damaging two health at the end of each round, water elemental was healing itself. This was the reason it wasn’t eliminated in this battle.
KELP INITIATE: The lineup is incomplete without kelp initiate: the cleanse ability was highly needed to purify and cleanse the poison in the Kraken. That was the reason the poison does not have any effect on the kraken.
Without this monster in my lineup, Kraken would have been affected by poison.
GEM METEOR: The monster of the week was impeccable in this battle; it attacked rule of the sea and eliminated it. The scattershot worked very well by attacking different monsters. Gem Meteor is really worthy to be used in battles.
In conclusion, the problem I had with this monster was the ranged attack. The range of attack was too small compared to the level of players I am pairing with. One range attack is too small.
Therefore, for me to enjoy this monster, I need to get up to level 4 and above. This is where I can see three ranges of gem meteor battles.
This is the reason it is very hard for me to use this monster in battle when I have a monster of the same mana with three range attacks.
My opponent wouldn’t have used venari wavesmith in this battle since poison will affect the health directly. It would have used cleanse ability monster, monster with immunity in this battle.
I stand up for success, and success is not achieved by merely making mouth, No room for laziness, no room for idleness.
