"My boss will angrily scream at me, If I don't finish this project right in time."!
These are the various situations of people's reality in their work place. They become up and doing as a result of deadlines and to avoid that angry facial expressions from their boss's face. Many people are on the hide out of the fact that they are not good in pressuring themselves especially in tasks, instead, they rather not take projects or do anything that will exchange their peace of mind at the moment. But how advisable is that? Get to find out.
When people hear the word "pressure", they hear a bad omen. This word is always passing a negative meaning when spoken because naturally, humans are advisable to stay away from things that brings in pressure. It tends to take away their peace of mind and sanity. Well, I agree with that but most successful people we see today used pressure as a source of motivation. How?
Here, pressuring yourself effectively is the major way to achieve a whole lot in short period of time. When that pressure is being lacked, indiscipline sets in. In our personal tasks, we find ourselves doing the right things late because there is no boss or deadlines. In fact, the begining of deadlines in personal tasks for most people is a turn off because they have to think and act consistently inorder to meet up to the deadlines set by them. But hey, they are not scared, after all, the deadlines are not from their angry ugly looking boss but their sweet angelic selves which is why important tasks most times are rounded off late or never.
Now you know that pressure can be used healthily, here is how you use it:
How to Use Pressure Effectively
1) Create That Little Voice Within:
source
We are all guilty of talking to ourselves in our mind but we are not all guilty of talking to ourselves loud (I do, most times). Everyone talks to themselves from within. To deal with pressure in achieving a large number of tasks within a small time frame, you will need to create that tiny or deep voice within you to keep on reminding your consciousness of what you ought to do at a particular point in time. Sometimes, I get really fed up and do something that I ought not to do because I closed the mouth of that little voice with a tape. I don't like her talking to me most times but I end up regretting it because I have never felt fulfilled when I do things that needed not to be done. Therefore, if you have a whole lot of projects to undertake, don't run away, just create a consistent voice within you that keeps reminding you.
Don't take that voice for granted, see it as an angel that knows your future. I know you will pay anyone who knows your future correctly, right? Then you have one free.
2) Begin with the end in mind
Visualizing about an end result has a lot of effect on the attitude you put in today. Seeing the end from the beginning, helps you to channel the right attitude to achieve that image in your mind and I know everybody loves a great artwork. In order for you to create that tiny voice speaking to you, you will need to create a picture or a video of you accomplishing your tasks and the benefit of doing that. This helps you in pressurizing your self effectively where every step you make is not just efficient but needed to go through that success path.
3) Be concious about procrastinations

I have a friend who always argues that he never procrastinate. Everyone does, but how do you procrastinate? Has it become an habit? That is where the fault is. This friend of mine is not just telling lies but also don't even know what procrastinating means. In fact, he is good at never accomplishing his tasks, isn't that the father of all procrastinations? The truth is that, he blames everything around him for not doing something, so he always have the right excuse of not doing something. Instead, he tags it has "not my fault".
Know when you are procrastinating and let the voice in you put you under the pressure of going back to your tasks. You can't achieve anything if you do procrastinate, not to talk of multitasking.
4) Delete fear
Fear is not the same as pressure. Fear comes as a result of an action. For example, I may experience fear as a result of the pressure in multitasking. But hey, am here to explain how your pressure can rather bring effectiveness rather than fear. You can work under pressure but working under fear makes you look amateur even when you are good at what you do. Have a relaxed mind when doing something and even if your deadline is coming closer without accomplishing your tasks, make sure you still handle each task well. In the end, you might be very conscious about efficiency but your boss will be more focused on your tasks effectiveness. Don't ever mistake these two concepts when you have tasks with deadlines. Embrace the pressure with no fear.
In conclusion, willingness is needed to even think of starting a task. How do you become willing? Just by how you value your decisions. When you decide to stay committed in a task, the 4 basic tips can now help you in consistency because decision is not just enough to continue a task. You need to become aware of your willingness every day which gives room to motivations and other tasks motivation concepts.
