Dragons have always either well loved or well hated. Some love dragon decks as it can easily matches with any color team, while some hate it due to the always higher mana cost summoner and the high price of dragon cards. One of the card that I love a lot in Chao Legion is actually Chao Dragon.
Let's us look at the beloved Chaos Dragon. What is really terrifying!!
- magic blast at level 2(i felt that it is quite worthless at level 1 unless you are using it as a mega tank)
- huge tank, 4 shield + 10 hp, that is quite a nice tank.
- scattershot, the skill by itself isnt any amazing but it can be a very gd combo. Given how scary magic blast is already, scattershot shot just make the threat to a whole big level!
- fly, means higher chance to aviod and gd for earthquake matches
- blind at lv3, it is always a gd skill when you realise that one or 2 misses turns the whole game.
Note: I have rented out most of my cards to generate passive DEC. However, I love playing Splinterlands so much that I bought thousand of Chao Legion Packs to get back in the game. As a result, most of the playable cards that I can use now is either Chao Legion splinters/summoners or those that I bought after the release of chao legion.
This time, I will talk about a brawl match that I played recently to show you how terrifying chaos dragon.

I am playing the fray for gold foil silver league for the guild brawl and this time round, I am vs knights united which is actually the 5th guild in Splinterlands!
Strategy:
Fire is too slow to use with just chao legion deck.
Water deck is super focus on speed and there are quite a few insane high speed melee and magic attackers.
Leaf should focus on magic build for chao legion deck but i have limited leaf epic or legendary cards
Light dont have a gd build and the chao legion ranger is actually quite low in hp which can be easily picked off with deeplurker etc.
So end up I actually choose dragon deck cause of the -1 in speed to counter water and the -1 in range to counter life. At the same time, I also try to be aware of the magic that either the water or leaf can build the magic deck.

Sadly, my venari seedsmith was actually taken down even before he can even do anything. The above picture shows what it is like before the chao dragon made its attack.
After the scattershot at supply runner, Chaos Dragon managed to deal 3+2+2 damages, a total of 7 damage!
In round 2, the above picture is what is situation before Chaos Dragon attack. You can see that they manage to kill off the mustang.
This time, the Chao Dragon manage to scattershot and hit the Kulu swimhunter. It dealed another 3+2+2 damage, killing off supply runner!
In total, it dealed 14 damages so far!
In round 3, the above picture shows what it is like before Chaos Dragon attack. The poor sandworm is gone and hill gaint is dying too.
Chaos dragon did a scattershot and hit kulu swimhunter again, this time round, dealing 1+2+2 damages.
In total, it dealed up to 19 damages just within 3 attack!
In round 4, even my speedy Peryton is also taken down with the even faster speed opponents, leaving my chao dragon as the only monster left. Luckily, he has yet to attack.
Unsurprising, now that Chao Dragon is in first position, he could only attack the front to deal 3+2 damage, not killing any splinters.
In total, it dealed 24 damages in 4 rounds.
The surprising thing is that the dragon is only speed 3 but yet it can evade both the speed 6 splinters!!! That shows how crazy sometime the flying can save the day. After that, it is easy for Chao Dragon to kill off the remaining splinters.
Improvement
I could have switch sandworm for other splinter and can even use some of the mana to improve on the 2nd and 4th position. It would be great if I have a queen mycelia to have protection for the whole team, including venari seedsmith so he dont have to die so fast.
Overall,
Chao Dragon dealed like 28 damages for the whole match.
The total hp for the opponent team is 38 and just one Chaos dragon already dealed like 73%!!! That shows how insane Chaos Dragon can be. As this moment, a magic blast with scattershot, Chaos Dragon is the one and only unique splinter with such combo!
